    Default SV 2.5: Bugreports + Issues - Check First Post

    Report here about any bugs/issues in the campaign or battle mode, as well installation and game start issues.

    First, make sure, you have the latest patched/fixed version installed (here atm. 2.5 plus Hotfix 1.1 - only this version can get a support).
    Edit: latest hotfix is 2.5.1.2 (see the 2.5 release post).

    Campaign and battle mode issues: Name first the chosen campaign (Late, Early or Renaissance Era) in your report.

    Example:

    Early Era
    I've encountered ... with unit ...

    Late Era
    Settlement ... is on the wrong place, correct would be ...

    etc.

    Also check out logs/system.log.txt for any kind of error logs, and eventually put in a copy of that.

    EDIT
    Installation, game start issues:
    Check out first the FAQ and the general info topic (it makes not much sense to put in here any install/game start "bug-reports" without first making sure you have provided everything in the correct manner)
    Also consider accurate the release readme's.
    As well note, that the submod Sicilian Combat isn't compatible with SV 2.5 or higher versions.

    Known Issues (from reports), base SV 2.5+HotFix1.1:
    - Timurids can't build roads. [internal fixed]
    - ZoR/AoR, no recruitment possible in some regions. [internal fixed]
    - Tax buildings in castle settlements not possible, as for a city requirement fairground. [internal fixed]
    - Under certain circumstances, ie. AI Musketeers have fire-back problems if under fire (might be a vanilla related bug, needs deeper investigation).
    - Late era, still some underdeveloped settlements, as well in the Renaissance camp.. [internal fixed]
    - Hadrianoupoulis, late era campaign: Paved roads entry mistake in descr_strat, as well a wrong church entry (abbey). Konstantinople has a cath. and a orth. abbey. [internal fixed]
    - Certain settlements aren't on their correct position.

    There was no CTD but while playing the turks layed siege to Constantinople and my treasury went down to negative 1,000,000 and kept going down throughout my turn.

    Thanks, I just ran into it myself. We will probably release a hotfix very soon

    The hotfix might be out still today, in the evening hours, european +1 gmt time.

    Looking through the export_descr_unit I noticed that all the formations (schiltron, phalanx, shield_wall) have a
    a semi colon ( ; ) in front of them thus making the formations not available in game.

    Was this intentional?

    Yes, this is naturally intentional. Shield_wall isn't available in M2 afaik, but if though, i would comment it out as well. And the both other are commented out to let the units act better, and not like idiots, if steered by the AI.

    Paved roads have been disabled, as no one was building them in the Middle Ages.

    They may make it back in, for the Renaissance.

    Also, while playing as Portugal, i captured the Moor's Citadel near the land bridge of Gibraltar, but i can't recruit anything other than ballistas.

    Nope, i can't build ANY kind of roads. Not just paved ones, any kind is unavaible.
    Cumans, Mongols and Timurids can't build roads. This might get a change in a next Hotfix, at least for the Timurids they will be enabled (thanks for pointing this out).

    Also, while playing as Portugal, i captured the Moor's Citadel near the land bridge of Gibraltar, but i can't recruit anything other than ballistas.
    This is due to the ZoR ... no bug.

    there are some provinces with castles and paved roads already built, but they still give the option to build dirt roads!(adrianoupolis, brindisi)!!!!!
    of course when i built dirt roads nothing else happened.
    i think it would be something simple, but it is a bit annoying!

    All eras

    When playing a battle, the battle will load then enter the battle. I get a brief glimpse of my army (part of the ground is black) then the whole game CDTs. This has happened before and I had a solution, but it was so long ago I've forgotten how to fix it.

    I think I remember this. It sounds like you can't find the correct modelsdb. Did you add any other mods to SV 2.5?

    I have installed the latest hotfix. When I now start a new grand campaign the game switches back zu the faction selection screen. And in the custom campaign only early and renaissance era are available.

    The Late Campaign is not a custom campaign, it is the grand campaign.

    Did you install the hotfix to the same path you installed SV 2.5?


    For example, if you installed SV into:

    C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War

    The hotfix must be installed to the same location.

    @mod

    yes, I installed the hotfix to the same path. the thing is, Late Era grand campaign works before the hotfix. but after installing the hotfix it can´t be started anymore. anyway to load the last Late Era savegame is possible. For me it seems that Late Era now has the menu settings of Early Era or Renaissance.

    Try deleting map.rwm from:

    <drive>:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\SicilianVespers\data\world\maps\base

    When you start the campaign it will take a minute to build the new map file.

    When I want to open the details-Window for a foreigne Unit, I get sometimes a CtD. When I reload the save and repeat the action, the CtD repeats. I had this error als the sizilian normans with a danish princess and as the seljuks with a cumae army.
