Wow, i am in some deep crap here. . .
Playing as spain, in about 1320's, i've ran into my most challenging efense yet. . .
i just took a city in Europe(rebelled agasint Milan) and lost a lot of soldiers doing so. I have about 10-11 calvary in my army(total of ABOUT 80)
2 groups of 11 DFK(took a beating in the siege) and 2 72 militia spearmen, and my general with about 20 calv left.
now here comes the fun part. The very next turn, Milan(with a full stack) sieges that city, no time to retrain or anything, but my walls have been repaired, and are ok. I was furious to be betrayed by another ally, AGAIN!
so now im in this battle. . . and i am enthused with the chance of victory under such slim chances.
The enemy has about 6-7 units of Militia Crossbows, about 1 unit of DMFK, and 1 scout calv(gen in this battle) with about 7 units in it. They came prepared, with 1 unit of balistas and catupult. . . so my outer walls in this city are trash(usually 5-6 wholes in the wall while the gate is never even touched. . .
so, with that many wholes in my wall, and so many units(just based on numbers, they rush in and kill me with overwhelmed).
i was thinking about pulling back to the town square since the buildings make a little funnel right before you get there. I was planning to maybe make a cog machine. my 2 units of 72 spearmen make th shiclotourm and put them on opposite sides of the entrance, leaving a little spae inbetween for enemy units to spill in. As the spearmen attack the front of the attackers, i plan on have my calv on one side so as they spill through in a little funnel, i will run straight over them with the calv. I just can't let too many get in at once or i will be overwhlemed. So i will keep my 20 some DFK right behind the spearman to kill those that run by also, kinda like a gauntlet.
So, does anyone else have ANY other strat that will help me. . . any and all are welcome. Im just so bent on winning this siege since i did once, but then laptop died. . .![]()
the way i beat em last time was PURE luck. they accidently moved catapults too close, and archers set them, and balistas on fire, they only made 2 holes in the wall, so when the Gen ran through, i quickly killed, and routed the enemy army.
now that i know it can be done, i am bent on doing it again.
P.S. Sorry for the bad grammar, its just that i am sneaking in class and righting this over the time span of an hour. . .teach is laying the work on us today. . . sorry![]()
