Crazy Y chromosome genetics and no battle speech!

g'day. i've been playing M2TW for a couple days now. I'm playing as Venice and in 120 or so turns, i've never had a princess to command on the campaign map. Is it me being a dufus and not looking in the right place, or is my family's y chromosome super dominant?

Also, whenever i enter a battle, i dont get to see any battle speech. Do i have to turn it on somewhere? thanks

I got it patched to 1.3, vanilla, no mods, high settings.:hmmm:

Hmmm, have you tried checking the family tree for princesses? The annoying thing with this game is that you get "Coming of Age" messages for boys but not girls when the become old enough to use.

And as for the general speeches, I find that the don't start straight away like they did in RTW, so wait a little bit. After a panning shot of the field and your men, the camera should switch to the general, at which point the speech will start.

Cheers captain, i appreciate it sir. you're right about the speeches, i just had to wait! But, as for the princesses, i look on the family tree and its all boys (with some married to girls). Now i'm thinking this isn't common right? When they do come of age, i'm assuming they appear on the campaign map near their fathers?
