    Default Graphics problem with RTR/BI

    Ok so I've been reading the forums a lot, sucking in the info. So far I haven't seen anyone mention the problem I have, so I registered to just ask about it myself. Like the thread title says, I installed the latest RTRPE over BI, because I wanted to make use of the better BI engine. Everything installed smoothly, I didn't have any problems because I followed the instructions. Gameplay is fine, to.

    BUT, all but a few infantry units in the game don't have hands or feet! They just come to little points. Even with my unit detail on highest, they basicly look like crap. I was testing it out after trying some graphics tweaking with a custom battle, and it was the same way but this time the enemy cavalry unit was also effected. The horses were fine, but the sprite for the mounted rider was without hands or feet. BUT, my cavalry looked great. Hand and feet all there, and they were as good as they should look with the unit detail on highest. So it would seem that most of my infantry units are stuck with the low unit detail option on. The slingers are fine, btw. It looks like most melee infantry with shields are the ones effected. Anyone know what I can do? Yeah, its not that big of a problem and I've been playing with it there, but it just bugs me to no end.

    I think that's a common problem, especially with slightly older machines - I used to have it myself. You need to turn down a certain graphics setting, IIRC. Try turning off anti-aliasing or shaders (or others if they don't work).

    Yeah, the problem was I had glints/reflections on. Should have thought of that, hah. Thanks for the help.

    It should be unit shaders - I am quite sure that is a known problem.

    Yes, I was also under the impression this was it. At least that`s how I remember it...

    Yeah I was wrong about the glints/reflections. I had changed that and then tested it on different units than what I was previously having problems with. Yeah I'm stupid lol. The shaders did it though.
