    No there is none.

As far as i know, making armour upgrades is like making a totally new unit.

Yeah. Only a few units feature the possibility of a sensible 'evolution' in armor - Sergeants of the KoJ, Unarmored to armored rajput basic infantry, Light to Medium Turkomans, and Daylami. For everyone else there tends to be a strong variation from one armor level to another.

So would it be possible sometime in the future to revert to a 'RTW style' blacksmith where a certain level gives universal benefits?

It's possible. Could be neat for India or Damascus. Holding it gives you access to the Damascus steel-producers or Indian Wootz-producers.

That's a great idea, but I was thinking of just a generic +1 +2 progression for all unit, guess I didn't state it right.

Armour upgrades are a nice idea, but in vanilla it was totally rediculous. Peasants that would upgrade from PJ's to being armoured sergeant. Feudal knights in 12th century gear instantly upgrading to 16th century advanced plate..Highland nobles that would upgrade from interesting scottish-ish kilts and appropriate get-up, into generic looking sergeant-ish english men. Every Islamic unit following the exact same upgrade path. gahhhhhh

No no, we won't be making upgrades.

Perfectly fine with me, units look good enough as they are now.

Frankly IMO, armour upgrades are a waste of time and I've never cared for them. If you're going to do a new skin I'd feel better just making a brand new unit instead.

For Polemarchia, Prof is doing something like this for the hoplites.

    no upgrade:
    -3 unarmored torsos
    -2 linothorax torsos
    -1 better linothorax torso
    -1 bell cuirass torso

    1st upgrade:
    -2 unarmored torsos
    -3 linothorax torsos
    -2 better linothorax torsos
    -1 bell cuirass torsos

    2nd upgrade:
    -1 unarmored torso
    -2 linothorax torsos
    -2 better linothorax torsos
    -2 bell cuirass torsos

    3rd upgrade:
    -0 unarmored torsos
    -2 linothorax torsos
    -3 better linothorax torsos
    -3 bell cuirass torsos

Not needed, he already did it. It's not hard. you just use the same 3 or 4 unit models and just change the number of men that have it per upgrade.

kalos, that is a nica idea for polemarchia, i think its far more accurate than get a complete kit of armor instantly, looking forward to that mod too.

In terms of pure statistical upgrades, no we wont be including this. The purchase of armour would of been a personal cost left for the individual levy or soldier to cover. I am doubtful that a King or Sultan would lay down cash to buy anything other than bare essentials for his army.

Plus, I am much more interested in new buildings that would be used to train units or to increase the abilities of generals.

I like the idea of there not being any upgrades at all, even statistically, if there is no visual upgrade either. That way, better units mean better units and if you're anything like me, you don't have to worry about obsessive-compulsively moving troops back and forth to get them all upgraded when you can. And I suppose it saves the blacksmith type buildings for other uses or other buildings all together.
