    help help can't run game, when I start a campaign goes straight to CTD, only tried byzantium though

    For any who are interested by my FF on occurrences in Rhun and beyond; I have begun a new project (not because the old one is finished, just opening more room for ideas) about one of the minor characters, Rankal.     in your mtw2 main directory, you will find the folder "logs". upload the system.log.txt, maybe it gives us a clue about you cdt.

    How to improve stability ?
    I have Win 7 64 maybe compability issues ?

    Hey guys

    Im playing the beta of dHHR 0.8 atm and encountered a CDT during my campaign as Hzgt. Franken in year 1094 (summer). While Venedig ends its turn and Silicy should be next, it crashes immediatly. Nothing special to mention about these two factions so far, none of them is getting eliminated during this turn. The log folder remains empty.
    Haven't a clue if it helps, but I checked for similarities in Uanime5's CDT debugging thread:

    Q: The game crashes during the AI's turn at about turn 20 and the error log just says the mod has crashed.

    A: I had this error and it took me a long time to fix it. This error occurred because I increased the number of children allowed in the data/descr_campaign_db.xml file. When the AI's family had more than 4 children the mod crashed.

    Q: The game crashes during the AI's turn and the error log just says the mod has crashed.

    A: There are several possible causes:

    1) The trigger for a trait is incorrectly written. I once had this problem when the trigger's 'WhenToTest' was 'GeneralAssaultsGeneral', rather than 'PostBattle'. You can test this by deleting the triggers of all your traits in the 'data/export_descr_ancillaries.txt' and 'data/export_descr_character_traits.txt' files (create backups before doing this) and loading the mod to see if the crash stops.

    2) A culture has a trait excluded but the corrisponding 'antitrait' is not excluded. This causes a problem when a general or agent switches from a trait to its antitrait (due to a loss or gain of skill points).

    3) The mod will also crash if an agent without a name gets an Epithet. This can be fixed by changing the agent's name in the 'data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign\descr_strat.txt' and restarting the mod so it uses the new name.




    Don't mind too much about it though, I know it is beta status and maybe this problem will vanish after a decent file cleanup.


    Ahh Ive got another one, less serious. If I send a priest into a rebel region (in my case Stettin, watched the same for Milan I think), he will become bishop of this region, although the settlement isnt mine of course...


    Take your time, dont put yourself under pressure, joy should remain the top priority of modding, diligent minds

    hmm.. that's strange. There are no events firing in 1094 for Sicily that might cause trouble. Could you please tell what settlements Sicily is holding, may be there is something wrong.

    You are emperor, I guess? As emperor you have the right to appoint bishops for the Oborite starting provinces even when not holding them. Those lands officially were part of the Empire.

    The other one being able to do so, anywhere on the map, would be the pope.

    Uhhm yeah. Things got more strange, but also easier. Problem simply disappeared.
    Started the game today to look for the possessions of Silicy you asked for and finished the turn by accident, lo and behold: no CDT... A fact which is strange indeed because I tried it several times yesterday already, since I changed the command for the error log in the cfg.
    ...And I can dully remember that there should exist an out of memory error...

    Most likely the AI trying to do something illegal, or someone should be spawned where he couldn't, or something like that.

    I am unable to launch the game properly. One time, I actually got to the faction selection screen, but the program CTD'ed after I selected a faction and it started to load the game. Later, I could not get past the initial splash screen (which still says HRR 0.7 by the way) before the game CTD'ed.

    I do run Windows 7--might this be the issue?

    I run the Conquest mod perfectly.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi folks,
    Im glad to see the mod in progress and waited eagerly on the release. It looks very good. But I met a problem. All worked fine playing Bavaria. I conquered Nürnberg. Then a Bohemian army threated Salzburg and I wanted to fight them in open battle south of the city. But a CTD followed. Ive installed Beta 0.8 and changed the textures you proposed. May be the Bohemian army is still in work???

    Clearly this beta is not ready for prime time.

    Someone please create a complete version that runs and place it in the download thread with a new announcement that a revised version has been posted.

    Bohemian units (should) work fine; may be there is a texture file of sort missing in the upload. To fix that I would indeed need to know what the log says.

    Default Still Cannot Get 0.8 to Run

    I elected to post this here since the bug reports thread has been deactivated or something.

    Anyway, I run Windows 7.0 and still cannot run Version 0.8 Beta. I do not know why. I get the "Windows has encountered an unspecified error and will now close" message when first trying to load the game.

    I tried reinstalling the models patch over and over like someone advised on the bug reports thread before it was taken down, but that has not worked.

    I will uninstall this mod, pending someone making a workable version. Very disappointing.

    Windows shutting down sounds rather like a corrupted download. When having downloaded and installed correctly 0.8beta should start without problems (at least that's what it usually does)
