Under 40 what? I'd imagine that most routers are over 100€...
Yer im a little confused, you say you want to spend 40 undisclosed units then show something that costs £100. But anyway, Belkin make pretty good routers but do you really need one with such a high transfer speed? If your just sharing an internet connection you could go with something far cheaper than that.
When I was looking for routers, even the ones with a lot of great reviews still had some negative feedback. This could just be due to bad luck, or the environment (construction of your house, interference, etc.). So my suggestion is just to get the cheapest one with all the features you want from a store to which you can return it to if you're unsatisfied. And do that until you find one that you like.

This router, is 35 units which is a bargin no matter what unit you trade in. I like routers much better to have a router then a ADSL modem.

Linky=
and apart from that do I need something to put into my laptop like this

the routers fine, you only need the usb stick if your laptop dosen't have an intergrated wi-fi reciever
well its picking up connections form both of next doors but obviously I can't connect because of the password thing so if thats showing up does it mean I have an integrated wifi reciever?
Yeah, of course.

One thing to be careful of with wireless routers is that you don't get one that is too old/slow. In other words, if it is wireless b, skip it. G is good, which is what I am using now, but it is not the newest.
You can generally fins a Wireless G router for less than 30-40 USD.

well is the router provided in the link a b or g router
OOps! I didn't see the link. The one that Freddie provided is a wireless G router. I use a G and it is fast enough for my purposes, but they do make them faster. If your laptop has intel centrino or another similar built-in wireless receiver, you won't need to buy anything else.

N is the newest version, but there is no general standatd for it yet, so it may have compatibility problems with receivers from other manufacturers. When the standards are set in stone however, many companies will make updated that will make the routers compatible with the standard.![]()
