Default Tweaking the number of turns ...

    Hi,

I would like to know if it is possible to change the number of turns allowed (the limit, in other words) to complete a campaign ? For example it would say "control 50 regions", but in the game it also says "500 turns left", well that is what I would like to tweak.

If possible, I'd like to know which file, of course, I need to look at.

Thanks for your help, and time.

Just open your Descr_strat.txt located in your:
    "C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign"

Find the lines, somewhere near the top, where it says:

    start_date 1080 summer
    end_date 1530 winter
timescale 2.00 (You'd want to use this line.)

I believe that the default makes it 1 turn = 2 years?
So if you change the value to, say, .50 it should make it 1 year = 4 turns.

This will alter how many turns you'll have left.

Changing the scale to 0.50 would mean 2 turns for every year. It's the most realistic scale as it follows the two seasons shown on the campaign map and it allows generals to age properly. However it also means your game lasts 900 turns and world events are far and few in between.

    Really? Well, I stand corrected

    Apologies.

This has been moved to the appropriate Mod Workshop forum, as that is where this belongs.
