Windows Vista= Piece of crap

Is it just me or is windows vista a piece of stupid code? So far I can't use it for more then 5 hours before it gets all stupid.

This is one might be familiar with you..

lol that happens on my older xp computer when trying to play BF2.

Its something thats been with windows since the bronze age.

When that happens I make the best of it by making "windows art". Its basically what you did; dragging the window around, but making a design for my amusement.

And so far, none of the DX10 games are really much extraordinary comparing it to DX9 games. I checked out some images for DX10 supported games and I don't think the trade off is worth...yet.

It's important to remember that Vista is no only for gamers; the average family will probably find Vista 'cooler' and 'a lot better' than XP, if only because it's newer and looks more funky. But just remember, Vista is not only aimed at us gamers, DX10 is not what Vista is solely about.

If nothing else, I wouldn't last ten seconds on XP without the search feature; being able to open any program without the use of a mouse, and the ability to pinpoint a known file in a massive folder, are both godsends, imho

Well, keep in mind it's possible to obtain Vista for a lot less than a couple hundred dollars

Yeah i got Vista 'educational edition' (home premium) for students for £53. Considering a new PC game will cost you up to £35, and an OS is used daily whereas a new game will get a couple of months use, i guess, its pretty much a bargain.

Not that i needed Vista, I just fancied a change from XP - and now to be honest i hate using XP, Vista is far better.

Hard to say. I certainly wouldn't go back, though; but nor would I recommend the expenditure to anyone happy with XP

I when for the most expensive vista, I believe it was Vista extream or stm similar. Right now I cant even use the start bar to find out.....

That's not the default explorer shell (the taskbar is far too transparent, for one) - what have you been playing with?

also remember vista is new, a few bugs are bound to be their, this is why the rest of us will wait for vista sp1 or sp2

i hated xp when i changed from 98, i now hate vista, i think it looks crap and was designed for a 5 year old but in two weeks i probably wont be able to live without it
