    Default Problem with Military/Governer Education

    When i leave one of my Coming of Age family members in a settlement or castle when they turn 16 they start the whole 10turn education process, but whenever they finish their fifth year and i have them leave it still gives them the attribute of skipping school. I tried testing it out by having them stay longer than 5 yrs but each time they left and stay out of a settlement for a turn they gained the skipped school attribute.
    Is there a certain thing i have to do to make them graduate? or is this just a bug? how do i fix this. so far i have a bunch of family members who went to school for five years but skipped for an increasing amount of turns. just doesn't make any sense. i need some help here

    I haven't really had a problem with this so not sure exactly what to tell you other than that it could be a missing part of a file from an incomplete download (if this was true you'd probably be having more problems than just the education system), the installation wasn't a clean one, or in the worst case something is wrong in your registry perhaps (probably not the case but who knows)? I would also post what DLV version you are using as this would help some of the other people that know more about this than me to help you more.

    I've not had this problem. The only time I see skipping school is if a son pops up out in the middle of nowhere, and I need to move him to Constantinople for schooling.

    Have you tried leavining them in there for another turn or two? when i first started i was taking them out ON the final turn and it gave them bad traits, leave them in there an extra one or two to be sure and everything went fine!

    i'm using dlv4.0 and to the last comment: i've left them in there until they were in their 30s and all it says is that they have finished their fifth year in military/governing school and there is also the other attribute 'Military Education' or the other one for governers. this jus stays the same until i take them out and then they get caught skipping in their 30s.
    oh yea. if it helps i'm using the irish faction.

    DLV 4.0 had some issues with the education system before the bugfixers I think. Try downloading and installing bugfixer_03 and update DLV 4.0 to DLV 4.3

    There may also be an issue related to the region or settlement that the student is in. I've run into issues with both education and supplies when the region was not predominantly of the same religion as my faction (specifically, Kingdom of Jerusalem).

    I had a general who was stuck in Al-Karak (not to be confused with stuck in Al's Crack) who left the settlement once in a turn for a quick battle and returned that same turn. He wound up with two problems:

    1) got the skipped school trait and never got credit for being back in the settlement although he stayed there for years (the education never resumed which strikes me as kind of daft since somebody should be able to go back to school at any time ... maybe he just had to travel briefly to find himself);
    2) troops began running out of supplies and it got worse every turn even though the general never again left the city

    at the time this happened Al-Karak was about 30% Catholic. I didn't see this problem recur after the population was >50% catholic.

    EDITORIAL NOTE:
    I find the requirements to get a PhD militaris or civilis to be kind of onerous in that it paralyzes a family member for years so I've dropped the age of maturity to 14 which seems to work OK.
