Icon5 Getting rid of units with same stats

The main thing that i hate in Americas campaign is the fact that it don't really exist a difference between any of the Mesoamerican factions. They've pretty much have the same units rosters(80-90%) no matter what faction you choose and even worse, most of them have the same stats

So what i wanted to do is to take every units who are in more than a faction and change their stats to make them more unique. Let's take the Jaguar Warriors for exemple, it has always the same stats for all the factions 12-12-3 and i want to change that. (ex:aztec jaguar 14-12-5, mayans jaguar 12-14-4, tarascans jaguar 13-11-5, etc)

The problem that i've is that it didn't show the units card so i'm stuck with the god damn civilian card. I did exactly the same thing that i did to give the Apache a mounted rider but it seem to have a problem with units been in more than a faction.

So did anyone here know why it always show the civilian card and how to fix it ?

Ok, i did more testing and it really seem to be a problem reliated to any units been used by more than one faction. Like i said i didn't have a problem to add the Chichimec Riders(unique unit) to the Apache.

    Here's the proof

Same with adding the Mounted Apache(unique unit again) to the Chichimec, again no problem.

But as soon as i add the Jaguar Warriors or any others units used by more than one faction, i always find myself with the same problem. The god damn civilian card.

    -Additionnal info-

    Right now what i've done:
-Increase the unit size (ex:pea, spe, l.i.=250, arc=150, eli=100, half for european, etc)
-Changed the units stats reliated to the faction behaviour
-Added few unit to other faction
-One more siege engine per batterie

What i still need to do:
-Divide the units used by more than one faction to give them unique stat without the civilian card(ex:eagle war.,jaguar war., cuahchiqueh, etc)
-Change the starting land for some faction(help them to survive)
-Add the French and English to be playable from the start(later starting date)
    -Fix the Apachean piety bug
-Fix spain bonus bug(lord, baron, etc)
-All others things i can't think right now

It adds the civilian cards because the file that tells it what unit card and pic are not there or the proper image is not there. I do not know which files you need to look at, but you need to specifiy the image file for the faction, the game may have added some that later were not used which is why some units work. Changing the stats for one faction means the EDU file needs to be modified and the new faction needs to be taken off on the ownership line and copy the entry and change the stats and then add the new faction ownership. Then you need to change one of the names and add a dictionary entry. Search the forums for Adding a new unit and follow those instructions.

Well, the only problem is that i've done everything you said (like since RTW) and i still have the civilian card. From what i could remember, 99.9% of the time it was a typo error why it'll show the civilian card. But after redoing all the thing like 5 times, i know for sure it's not a typo error.

So did i need to put some file in some folder somewhere like the export_unit.txt file problem ?

For the people who didn't know what's the export_unit.txt file problem is refer to this thread: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=121669

    {Tarascan_Jaguar}Tarascan Jaguar
{Tarascan_Jaguar_descr}Jaguar warriors are fearsome troops, who through great skill and courage are allowed to wear uniforms made from jaguar skins. Their open faced helmet resembles a snarling jaguar and marks them as a fearsome warrior of great skill. Like most soldiers they wear ichcahuipilli armour and are equipped with a chimalli shield and a maquahuitl club

So have you renamed the Jaguar Warriors to Tarascan Jaguar? If so, you also need to rename the unit card from Jag Warriors to Tar Jag...

What he said! You need to change the name of the Jaguar Warrior Unit Info Pic and the Jaguar Warrior Unit card found in the data/ui/unit_info and data/ui/units folders and to tarascan_warriors.tga and #tarascan_warriors.tga

Wrong. Since i changed the name for Tarascan Jaguar, it should be tarascan_jaguar_info.tga & #tarascan_jaguar.tga, what it's named right now.

Well, i did a bit more testing and everything point out to the fact that as soon the unit's used by more than one faction, you'll find yourself with the civilian card problem. I tried with Jaguar Warriors, Eagle Warriors and Cuahchiqueh (all these units are used by more than one faction) and i've always the same problem while if i add any of the unique unit, i never have a problem so...

Did anyone know why evreything seem to be related to only units used by more than one faction ?

P.S. Sorry, i know my english sux so just told me what's not clear enough and i'll try to be more specific.

Yeah, i know that. Anyway, if don't rename them the game will not start what's pretty obvious when you think about it, tag name you know. You probably mean that image i add in the UI/unit_info/tarascans folder i created.

    And the little one

Like you can see in my third post, i can add any unit who are unique for their faction but not a unit who are used by more than one faction what's the case here with the Jaguar Warriors.
