[Decision] Permanent Banning of enoch

The Greek city-states would banish citizens who were a detriment to their community. The Roman Senate would declare citizens who were a detriment to the city "Enemies of Rome" and banish them from the Republic on pain of death. The Curia...well, the Curia hands out medals for playing games. It is time for a change!

We have a member whose posts have become a nuisance and a blight on TWC's otherwise shiny forums. His spamming of the Q&S forum has reached new heights. Staff has closed no fewer than seven of his threads in the last 72 hours. Witness:



Now, enoch blames his annoying posts on me; more specifically, on my rather strict interpretation of the ToS last June. While this argument may help explain his rash actions back then, it holds no water today. I resigned in late July in the midst of a complete overhaul of the ToS by Hex. One of the consequences of the overhaul was that everyone's "criminal record" was wiped clean (as otherwise some members would have fallen through the cracks). My successor told enoch that he was being given a second chance. I was no longer around to "antagonize" him with my presence. We have all been witness to his response. Indeed, his spamming has reached new heights not seen last June or July. It is time that we put an end to this. He will continue spamming until somebody disconnects his internet or he is banned, whichever comes first. While it is quite possible that Hex would veto this decision should it go anywhere, we can't be faulted for trying.

And so, my fellow citizens, I propose the following Curial Decision:

Decision

• The member 'enoch' is to be permanently banned from TWC. Given his past insistence on using alt accounts to evade suspension, an IP ban shall be administered as well should Hex determine it to be technically feasible.

It is time that the Curia ceased patting itself on the back and started contributing to the well-being of the site. This is a golden opportunity to do just that.

As for an IP Ban, well, as I am sure you are aware, there are certain... logistical difficulties (you never did put my suggestion in your sig ) presented for such a large site...

(And what was your suggestion? My memory grows dim in my old age. Unless you are referring to my accidental banning of all Romanians from the site...I do remember that )

indeed twc seems to be the only website on earth that doesn't simply ban people who are constantly causing trouble. whilst that is a good thing it seems enoch is abusing this and enough is enough
