    Icon4 Teutonic Grand Campaign Now Redundant

    UPDATE : Teutonic Grand Campaign Expanded has been released see http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...91#post2485191

    Therefore this version will not be updated again, although I am still happy to help existing users with any problems or queries

    Note requires MTWII and Kingdoms to be unpacked.

    Spoiler Alert, click show to read: 

    version 2.2 gives mongols horde ability
    version 2.1 fixes missing music for new factions, adds crusading nobles missions, fixes high end buildings bug
    version 2 fixes filepath error

    For users of previous version changes are to EDB, Campaign Script, sm_factions and descr_sounds_music_types


    This Mod places the Teutonic Campaign into the Grand Campaign (Kingdoms is required to play this mod, as
    it uses the kingdoms.exe). All the new factions are there, along with the new units and features
    (including burning oil, mangols, permanent forts, changing battlefield and strat map models)

    New playable factions are
    Teutonic Order - starting with large armies, but only one settlement, Thorn
    Lithuania - Starting with smaller armies, but two settlements, Riga and Vilnus
    Novgorod - One region Novgorod (Russia now starts with Moscow)

    Norway is included with one settlement (Oslo) but not as a playable faction, since in Teutonic Campaign, Norway has
    no tech tree (I may fix this in later releases)

    There are 20 playable factions
    england, france, hre, spain, venice, sicily, milan, scotland, byzantium, russia,
    moors, turks, egypt, denmark, portugal, poland, hungary, teutonic order, lithuania, novgorod

    Crusading Noble missions available to the Teutonic Order
    Lithuanian conversion, and the Kalmark Union events are not included.

    There is no attempt at historic realism here, merely an attempt to bring the features of the Teutonic Campaign into a larger scale. Although if people request changes I am happy to consider updating this mod

    Each faction has win conditions and diplomatic standings. Win conditions are fairly local, but player
    still has the option to wander furthur afield, these are eaily changeable, should there be a demand for
    it.

    Future plans are to incorporate the two new crusader states into this campaign. And add Mongols and
    Timurids as playable factions. Timurids likely to get a major overhaul to stop them being a Mongol
    clone.

    To install, copy your teutonic folder in the Mods folder, then renane the new folder to teutonicGC, then
    unzip the rar file into the mods folder, overwriting the teutonicGC folder you have just created.
    Important note: Rename the map_fog.tga in the \teutonicGC\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign to xmap_fog.tga
    Launch via the batch file.

    I keep getting kicked to desktop at the first medieval2 screen that pops up. I believe I've done everything the install instructions have said. I copied my Teutonic folder, renamed it to teutonicGC, and then copied your mod into that folder. Have I missed anything?

    can you uplaod your error log, so I can see where the prob is


    EDIT You copy the mod into the mod folder not teutonicGC folder, this overwrities the teutonicGC folder with the new files

    EDIT: Well, I have the same problem as the other person, the error is just a blank box. I have followed all the directions including the EDIT one you have in the post above this, any ideas?

    Have you unpacked your game>?
    Try deleting the map.rwm from mods\teutonicGC\data\world\maps\base
    can you post your error log, as Im confused, I have it alll working fine this end,

    I have exactly the same error, to bad as I really looked forward to playing the teutonic order in the grand campaign.

    I have unpacked the teutonic folder before copying it and installing your mod, although I haven't unpacked the original MTW2.

    Hi looks like it might of been a file path issue. I am uplaoding V2 at the moment. It should be unzipped in the C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods folder over the top of the teutonicGC folder.

    I have just tested it on a clean version and everything is working fine. I have read of issues if Kingdoms is unpacked but orginal game isnt. Please let me know or PM me if you have any probs

    Okey thanks, it works now, well at least I can enter the game and start a campaign. However it seems all character models are missing, as the campaign map is filled with empty white "blocks":hmmm:
    I'm not sure if thats caused by your mod or somehow a stand-alone issue though. Now unpacking all MTW2 files to see if thats the problem. (takes forever )

    edit: woohoo! unpacking everything fixed this, thanks for the mod.
    1 question though, when I start a campaign with your mod, the campaign map is so that I can see all cities and armies everywhere. The Fog of War basically looks like swiss cheese, parts on the campaign map are covered, and parts are uncovered. Do you have any idea how I can fix this?

    Hi,

    The white block problem has been reported on a number of different mods and is caused by not having the original game unpacked

    Are you now getting like a black tiger stripe of fog across the strat map. I did get that during development, and I reloaded the map/base folder and it seemed to clear it.

    check to see if you have a file called map_FE in the teutonicGC\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign folder. If you do delete it and feedback to me.

    I found the map_FE and deleted it, but it had no effect, still got the tiger stripes.

    Ah great, I've tried deleting the base folder and replacing it with the vanilla one but it had no effect, still tiger stripes.

    It was a full working version uusing the entire file set from tuetonic , but I had to slim away the unchanged files or the file was 2 gig. Tigerstripes have appeared in the slimming, Im working on them at the moment

    White blocks are because the vanila game isnt unpacked normally. I had fixed the tiger stripes on my full version, but it has sneaked back into the lite version, Im working on the tiger stripes as we speak

    Also deathblow, is it ok if I send you a PM, I know your an excellent skinner, and I need a skin alteration

    Hi again, ok sorted, there is a file in teutonicGC\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign
    called map_fog, just rename it to xmap_fog, this file is a left over from the orginal teutonic campaign, where there is no FOW.
    Confusion was caused as I couldnt see it in my mod files, because it wasnt there, it was from the copying of the orginal teutonic campaign folder

    (not sure if this bit is required)
    copy the radar_map1 radar_map2 from the
    vanilla data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign folder
    into teutonicGC\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign folder

    and it has fixed it at my end, please try and let me know that it is working, then I shall replaced the download file

    Phew ! thanks, I dont need to alter the download file, just need to make sure people rename the fog file. I will make a note in the download thread. Sorry for the hassle, as I say Id fixed it in my full version here, so was at a loss as to how it had sneaked into the lite version, but I'd forgot that people were having to copy their own tuetonics campaign so would inherit the file from that.

    Thanks for bearing with me, if you see anything you would like altering, I will do you a personal copy, to recompense you for the hassle., I have given you rep+

    After reading through tutorials, I am thinking on making a Teutonic General's Bodyguard with stats comparable to the rest of the western factions. To me, the existing unit is vastly inferior, has this been done already?
