    Default Death rate in DVL 5.0

    Have you by any chance made changes to the random death mod in DVL 5.0 ?

    Because im getting the old problems as before the death mod was changed a bit. Priests die the turn they are trained, so far at year 1217, 8 of my kings have died of natural causes, 1 heir. Playing as Jerusalem btw if that matters.

    I know i just might be very unlucky but it just reminds me so much as the previous versions that i though i'd ask if anyone else had those problems.

    Most of my family members have died in their earlie 30th. Hell the starting king is only 22 when playing KoJ i should still have had him with some luck.

    I've noticed that two. I haven't had any of my leaders die on me but alot of agents die young usally and pretty much every turn I get a death message it, be it another nations king or a cardinal or even the Pope! I figured it was just me but now that someone else is mentioning this I guess it's not just me being unlucky...

    I don't have so many problems with the death rate... But i also have lots of priestes dieing the turn they are trained... And my kings and stuff are getting TOO OLD^^! I get the feeling if the family member gets past 55 years, they usually reach their 80s^^!

    I think they have enchaned that death rate or I got the same problem as you. Played a long campaign with HRE both in 4.0 and 5.0 and the death rate is significant higher. Maybe I just have bad luck as you but still this is really annyoing. No idea planing your Heirs and make sure the ones you have get the right experience for being a leader someday when the Leader/heirs changes every 4-5th years.

    <max_age uint="120"/>
    <max_age_for_marriage_for_female uint="30"/>
    <max_age_before_death uint="121"/>
    <old_age uint="30"/>

    is pretty much the same as in 4.03 from what I can tell, set <old_age uint="45"/> for older generals...

    Am also playing Kingdom of Jerusalem and have had some weird stuff happen relating to ages.

    - the starting ages in the text file don't match the starting ages for all of the named generals - I corrected a couple of the ages but Bohemond (whom I didn't change) started at age 20 although he should have been 40 or so;
    - same goes for Raymond of Tyr who started at age 20 but should have been 40-ish (don't have the game in front of me for exact dates)
    - at the start of the campaign I was getting 26-30 year old suitors for female characters but now they're all around 15-18 and come in with 3 years campaigning experience and as Career Generals or Career Governors. It appears that when they're generated, the education mod is not considered at all else you'd expect to see them with little or no education.

    I have had a couple of priests/merchants die within a few turns of arriving but not that many.

    Raynald de Chatillon is still alive and kicking at age 75 and is governor of Damascus. I still haven't figured out how he became a Career Governor as he was in a castle for the first few turns, but oh well ... which leads me to my next question:
    Does anyone know how to remove the education system and it's related files? I like the idea of it but I just find that too many surprise/illogical results are cropping up.

    @Bandicoot

    At the start of the game if you want a career general you have to leave them in the field on the first turn.
    Installation: WinXP Pro SP3, M2TW Kingdoms 1.5, DLV 5.80 beta 2. Playing as Poland.

    Thanks is there anyway to adjust agents ages? like have them start at age 18 or 20, Instead of some random value?

    Ofcause making this thread yesterday has totaly cleared my problem =)

    Not a single death of natural causes since i made this topic. Family members are well in their 50's now and merchants are in their 70's. But i kinda expected that to happen =)

    Far too many of my characters have died young. I was told too change this <old_age uint="30"/> value to around 50. After about 30 turns like this, only a few of my older characters have died unexpectedly.

    Ive found that lifespans become irregular if you leave guys in city to much-- there is probably a trigger that checks if they are in a city-- my king of scotland is now 80-- he has ruled over many conquests and now resides in a fort in the mountains unable to move--- surrounded by his templars of course.

    most early death comes for me with princesses after they get married dying almost right away-- all in all the de3ath mod is working fine for me.
