so i have bought medieval total war II and kingdoms off of steam, and i went to install what seems like one hell of a mod. well, i installed the mod directly to my total war Ii folder (program files/steam/steamapps/common/medievalIItotalwar) and i double clicked the shortcut onmy desktop for the mod and the launcher appears, and the mod is not listed in the launcher. so i launched the regular game, thinking it wrote over vanilla files, howeer, again just the regular game loaded. how do i get this mod to load??

well cae have a .bat file in desktop, this isn't started via mtw2 launcher !

how do you launch mtw2 without the launcher?? when i click the bat file it goes directly to the launcher

just replace in shortcut \launcher.exe to \medieval2.exe

acutlaly i'm trying to access CAE, and when i use the desktop icon, it goes straight to the launcher instead of launching the game. this is where im confused??

so i guess what i'm asking is, how do i get the icon to launch the mod instead of the launcher??

i think the problem is i have steam, ahs anyone else with this mod been able to launch it when they bought the game using steam?

i have discovered that steam launches medieval II's launcher, not the game itself, therefore bypassing the ability to play the mod. i was reading on the stainless steel's mod site that they had created an executable that puts their mod in the list of the launcher. is there any way you can do this for CAE? not necessarially creating an executable, but just showing me how to mod the registry in order to fix it??

Well that's already been put in the CAE as well,that's what the bat file stands there for.. Not to mention it is already indicated in the .cfg file as well :hmmm:

Start the game by going into the directory:

Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War

Double click:

CloudsAcrossEurope.bat
