I'd say its a must have when its out.
Re: Just like to share my first short game movie...
most FPS games made in the last 5 years have in built game recorders.
all the quakes games, call of duty games, ET, RTCW, MoH the list goes on.
if the game allows you to record demo's then you most likly have an inbuilt recorder in it. the games inbuilt recorder is just like a built in fraps, but with a few diffrences.
it does not record it in to AVI - it records it to screenshots (tgs files). you have to use a program like virtual dub to turn all these screenshots into one complete AVI movie file (its easy dont panic). the advantages of doing it like this that you get higher quality and it will be a smoother, clear picture without a 30second limit. the only disadvantage is it takes longer to do, it will record it really slow - the game will run at about a 3 frames a second when recording and then you have the pain of turning those screenshots into avi files. most games limit you to about 9999 screens before they refuse to record anymore - its about 5-8 mins worth of footage depending on the game, you have to convert it to avi and then delete the screenshots before the game allows you to record anymore.
check you manual as to if your game supports this, most major fps titles do. and record mode only works in demo mode, its usually the button next to the screenshot key (f12) alot of games have some nice inbuilt features as well, when watching it in demo mode you can slow or speed up the footage, change camera angles and all sorts.
edit**** i would be willing to post(make) a tutorial of how to use a games inbuilt recorder, virtual dub, and sony vegas if enough people are intrested
