    Default Resolution for 226BW

What is a good resolution to run on the 226bw? I'm using 1152 by 864 for games and desktop and I can tell everything is a bit skewed. Scrunched down and streached out it's not too pretty.

    1680 x 1050

The reason it's distorted is because your trying to display a squarish resolution (1152/864=1.333) on a wide screen monitor (1680/1050=1.6).

Widescreen should be run at 16x9 (1.777) or 16x10 (1.6) ratio. Preferably 16x9.

    Yeah 1680 x 1050
Or 1900 x 1200 if the monitor can run that.

Thanks, Coincidentally I just picked that resolution to try. Everything is a good bit smaller, but I guess I’ll adjust lol. I’m currently playing shadowbane and it does not have a resolution to match that. It does have a custom resolution though. I guess I should try to change it in the pref files.

    1360x768 (1.77)
    1280x800 (1.6)
    1280x720 (1.777)

Those should be good as well.

Use 1680x1050 whenever you can. If you can't (gaming), go to Wide Screen Gaming Forums, go to the master list and select the game that won't let you play with widescreen. Follow their "hack" for that. When your graphic card isn't powerful enough for the native res, either upgrade or use a resolution with the same ratio. (16:10).

always looks better in the native resolution. im using the 206bw, so only a 20" WS model, but thats a 1680 x 1050 native as well.
and i dont drop it except for battlefield 2142, which for some reason refuses to display properly at native.

using a 256m nvidia 7600gt for display adapter atm, hoping to upgrade soon, but it seems to handle it ok, and been playing kingdoms at native res just fine atm

Tried -szx 1680 -szy 1050? It will distort the interface but should display the actual action correctly...

Works for me in bf2, at any rate.
