    Default Media Players

Im looking for a media player, more specifically a video player that can play DVDs from the DVD drive. I've been looking at d/l.com and haven't found anything worthwhile. I am at the moment downloading http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ and plan to test it a bit later.

Free is a big plus but anything less than 20$ is acceptable. Quality, dependability and ease of use are also important. Thanks in advance.

Most players should do this :S, i know VLC can. Have you got a DVD decoder? You can't play dvd's without one because they are run in a certain format/protection. Im pretty sure this is the case because if no player is working there is something wrong elsewhere, even windows media player can play dvd's.

    VLC is very, very useful

I won't go into it any more, but a DVD decryptor isn't really necessary if you don't have one, as the css copy protection on the discs was cracked very quickly and there are now oodles of programs available to easily watch dvds

Thought never occured to me, ive never needed to use anything like that because you usually get a dvd decoder bundled with a new graphics card on the drivers disk.
