Default Tips for a relative newcomer...

...I played Rome:TW for a while, but not enough to really get into the game (academic reasons, not because I didn't think the game ruled, cuz it did). Anyway, I just bought MTW 2 and I installed the newest version of Stainless Steel (4.1). I was wondering if you guys had any general tips that aren't readily apparent from the tutorials, whether it is general campaign strategy, specific battlefield maneuvers, any time-saving keyboard strategies/shortcuts, whatever. Perhaps there is some comprehensive, advanced strategy guide I can be directed to?

btw, I selected Denmark for my first campaign...good idea? General strategies?

A big difference from Rome (at least for me), is that units keep their experience when you retrain them, so save that last gold chevroned soldier!

I find the tutorials very exhaustive, I mean compared to what other games ship with nowadays...

Check the "tips and shortcuts" sticky topic in general discussion.
