EAX/Sound Issues/Surround Sound

K, so my first ever technical problem.

I have a Creative Labs X-Fi Xtreme Gamer (the one that M2TW "sounds best on" ), but in the Audio options I can't activate any other sound provider than Miles Fast 2D.

I have Vista, and currently using 1.0 (damn 600MB patch!)

Anyone find themselves in the same situation?

make sure you set your x-fi to game mode

install alchemy from creatives website, and run the program and set the games you want to have eax. you need to do this only once for your games.

that should do it... however my game sounds extremely weird on eax4, so i just choose eax2....oh well.

OK. I have it set to games all the time (don't bother changing it ), but I'll download this Alchemy-thing. What is it? I just checked their site and decided to download a driver, dunno my current version so I decided to DL it just in case.

let me know how it sounds on eax4... specially when archers are firing their bows. It sounds extremely weird on my card.

If that doesn't work you might have an IRQ conflict.

Thx, it works. I don't think the arrows sound weird with EAX 4 though. In fact I don't notice much difference to Miles...
