Europe:Total War (about my current campaign)

Hi,

I in my current campaign some incredible things are happening (at least they seem incredible to me).

I play as byzantium with UltimateAI-Mod. At the beginning it seemed that France would build a nice empire in europe - at least the began to conquer northern Italy. Hungary began to expand as well. Venice was soon (with my help) exterminated. The Holy Roman Empire had a quite bad start as northern Germany was conquered by Denmark.

The I was quite busy with conquering the moors and shattering the egyptian empire (they had grown to strong in my opinion when they defeated turkey).

But now.....I have just sent a little task force of spies into europe....and I'm really shocked !
The Holy Roman Empire and France lie in ruins and Denmark has built a huge empire all over europe. At the moment they battle with hungary. The English sit on their island and watch (what a surprise ). Of the Russians I don't know yet - my spies are still on the way.

What seems so impressive is that denmark and hungary battle with so many full stack armies. It's really a Total War between them. Hungary seems to be the last defender against denmark - and in the end I guess it will come to a real "world war" between denmark and my byzantine empire.

I never played such a great campaign in RTW !
(It's the first time that I play MTW2 for a longer peroid, though I bought it quite a while ago).

Denmark is tough in every game i have played. And so is Hungary. Usually not enough to challenge me though!
But yea you dont see this kind of AI battling in RTW.

lol RTR gold/platinum Macedon? (Well they got nerfed a bit later in platinum but for a while there...)

I'm not sure what you mean.
I played RTR since v6.0 and it's an excellent mod, the best one in my opinion (especially the new music!)
But I've never seen such things happening in RTW, even with RTR-mod.

In the meantime my spies have arrived in Russia - it's still intact.
I hope that denmark will try to conquer it as well and suffering a defeat like Napoleon Bonaparte

It seems to me that the best way to fight the mongols are assasination of their family members instead of fighting their armies.
Therefore I built a camp for my assassins in the region the mongols start their invasions - I tend to forget my agents when placed in cities. The camp helps me to remind myself that I already have a assassins there.
But after I built it, I was reminded of a terror camp....especially because afghanistan is not so far away there
