Byzantine Empire?
This is probably a stupid question but I must ask. I hear people talk about playing the Byzantine Empire in Midieval 2 but there is no option in my game that allows me to play the Byzantine's. Please tell me what I am missing.
Also, when do I get the cannon's for siege works? Or is that only in the pictures?

Re: Byzantine Empire?
The Byzantine empire is playable but you have to unlock it first, or cut and paste it's name in the "playable" section in your desc_strat file in your data/world/campaign folder.
You have to build cannon foundries to be able to build cannons. Siege works and foundries are not the same building.

Re: Byzantine Empire?
Thanks for the info Dogman, but there is no campaign folder in the location you specified however; there is a descr_strat file in /world/maps/campaign/. I think thats the one. I will try it.

Re: Byzantine Empire?
Why don't you finish a short campaign first? England is good for start. You can then play any faction you want.
If you want to mess with it, the descr_strat is located in data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign
