Can unit scaling change during a campaign

Hey, i finally figured out that the unit scale for my computer is too big, and its having a hard time running the battles, so i was wondering, if i change the unit scale back to normal. will it change with my campaign or do i have to start a new one.

Yes.

You will have to start a new campaign in order for the change to take effect.

More tactical. E.g. in RTW it was really off because Phalanx's were far better on larger settings.

It depends on how good your video card is.

Think cpu is more of a bottleneck?

Try turning down graphical settings (unit detail, grass, resolution). Larger units do produce better gameplay since they're no longer as precise and the battles will last longer.

The biggest changes are the siege battles when you change the scale.

The wall defenses do more damage, because you have fewer guys but there are the same number of towers.

Towers shoot more though I believe.

If your pc is not that good then playing with a smaller scale will improve gameplay a lot.

But on the other hand.....2500 soldiers per stack is pretty awsome.
