I would get a bigger hard drive if I were you, I have 320Gb for a year and that’s beginning to full and unless you have a practically big screen (24”=>) the 320Mb makes more sense then the 640mb version.
The 6000 is good value chip for the money, but if you plan to overclock you might be left disapointed but at stock speeds its a soild preformer.
Are you salvaging a PSU?
Also, why AMD over intel? Most people are going to recommend you go core 2 duo. If you are going to overclock you will probably need better RAM, if not you could drop the after market cooling for the CPU and save yourself some cash. That hard drive only has a cache of 2mb, what you really want is a minimum of 8mb, but it won't impact performance that much. And I agree with Freddie, drop the graphics card to the 320mb version unless you have a big screen.
I'll probably be getting a new screen soon, 19-20 inch widescreen. Will my current GPU be ok with that?

i should be ordering parts tonight so im gonna change the 2mb cache hdd thing to 8mb (http://www.microdirect.co.uk/(5604)1...Hard-Disk.aspx)
i know 160gb seems to be a bit small these days but i was thinking i could fit my current hdd in too? this one's like 144gb or something
Do you know what interface your old hard drive is? SATA or IDE? That one you link to appears to be an IDE connection, you want something like this, which is a SATA connection.
Are you salvaging a PSU?
Well, you could always buy an E6600 ...
Under the patronage of Rhah and brother of eventhorizen.
SATA is newer & better in many ways![]()

You got a final parts list that you're going to order?
basically as shown above except changing the hdd to
http://www.microdirect.co.uk/(22328)...TA-II-300.aspx
thats what my mate just showed me anyway.
You said you weren't playing resolutions higher than 1280x1024, so get the 320mb version of the graphics card.
