1187 - Pope Gregory VII issues the Audita tremendi, a papal bull that imposed a seven year truce throughout Europe so Christian rulers could conduct the third Crusade.
Now I can add an event that's fine, but what I want to achieve is.
1. At the minimum a ceasefire of all wars based on this event for 5 turns, at best stop the Ai from starting wars for 5 turns. So perhaps add a second event telling the player that the edict is over.
2. Hit the player with a big penalty if they ignore this.
So how best to achieve?
I know you can set the papal sates to not start a war for the first x turns in the Ai, so can I do this for all catholic factions based on an event?
Can it be done in the campaign script and add in, if player then add money -15,000.
Perhaps add a new trigger to the traits file, which makes them automatically excomuinicated.
All of the above?
Any helpful suggestions/advice welcome
