Is Kingdom's America Bust?

Ive been playing Kingdoms as the Spanish in the American campaign for the last week. Have taken several rebel and Aztec cities and am at war with the Aztecs and the Mayans and have still not experienced anybody attack me at all. All I have been attacked by is sallying armies and they always seem to sally forth one turn from the end of the seige. Otherwise I havent been attacked. I assume this will change at some point unless the campaing is bust!

Which difficult level are you playing on ??

Im playing as New Spain on only medium difficulty and im being attacked from every direction. The mayans were persistantly attacking me until i destroyed their faction, the Aztecs are being a MASSIVE headache and i've just had a 3 stack english colonies army attack me - my useless native american allies were slaughtered but my conquistodors/unmounted conquistodors just pulled me through for a close victory.

medium difficulty.... this game is already easy on Vh/VH. if you want everyone to attack you. then set dif lvl higher.

Playing Spain in the Americas campaign right now on hard/hard. I had to restart a previous attempt because the Mayas were simply overwhelming me (so many damn stacks).

I'd say the key to playing New Spain is to blitz the Mayas ASAP. Use Cortes from Vera Cruz to attack from the west, then bring down your army in Havanna and attack Chichen Itza (their capital, you get a lot of florins from looting it). Always attack on the field, where your heavy cavalry gives you an extreme edge. Once their field armies are gone, start sieging their cities.

Before doing all of this make sure to ally with the Tlaxcalans and the Aztecs, so they'll stop fighting each other. This will keep the Tlaxcalans from getting annilhilated while you're taking out the Maya (they'll be useful for taking out the Aztecs later on). Before you move on to taking the Aztecs out make sure to consolidate every province to the east of Vera Cruz.

Dont get me wrong I love the American campaign even though Im British! Playing the Spanish and having loads and loads of natives attacking is great fun. Far better than the original game. Im looking forward to playing the Indians as well.

I just finished one battle where I just managed to turn a massive battle around with my cavalry after I lost all the rest of my men and then the enemies reinforcements attacked and I still somehow managed to win - superb fun.

But my best battle so far as the Spanish was when I attacked two large aries of Aztecs totalling 2000 men and managed to catch them forming up. I went out with my Cavalry and took the marching army in the flank and after a massive scrap managed to not only win the battle but also took out all of their 2000 men for a loss of only 34 of mine! That has to be the best battle Ive ever fought so far.

By the way I am playing on hard/hard and so far its been quite a walk in the park but very enjoyable. I will try vh/vh next time.
