    Default Buildings destroyed automatically by occupants

    Greetings,

    whenever an army marches into a city, all buildings of the other religions are automatically destroyed. I can't have a muslim city with a catholic governor, for example.

    Is there a way to implement this kind of behaviour for other buildings, too, and can the automated destruction be switched off for religious buildings somehow? Like, if you wanted to maintain a multicultural town...

    I don't want factions being able to construct alien religious buildings, just maintain them, if present at time of conquest.

    1. With kingdoms it should be possible using the destroy_buildings command whenever you capture a province
    2. Just remove the temple_ prefix from the building (don't forget to update export_buildings.txt and descr_strat, too)

    Could I get some clarification on this?

    1) Is this a script command?

    2) Is the opposite true? If I added the temple_ prefix to other buildings would it automatically get destroyed if the settlement is captured?

    Some answers.

    You don't need the prefix temple_ to have a religious effect. It is only needed to have the line
    Code:
    religion catholic
    (or whatever) to have an effect on that religion.

    I did it with guilds and worked perfectly.

    What was asked wasn't about the religious effect but on the side-effect of destroying something of a different religion.

    1) Yes

    2) Yes but I'm not sure about the exact conditions. I think anything with a temple prefix that isn't available to be built by the conquering faction will be destroyed (that's how it worked in RTW if I recall correctly). It could be that you need the religion keyword though - you should just go ahead and try it.

    Too bad, I don't have Kingdoms, yet.

    Will religious buildings keep their effect on the province's religion and on happiness if the temple_-prefix gets deleted?

    Happiness for sure, religion maybe. I don't know if giving a non-temple building a religion and conversion bonus works so you'll have to go ahead and try it.
