    Default quick question

I can't seem to find the answer anywhere, although I'm betting it is written down somewhere around here.. but can I have both this and Stainless Steel 4.1 installed? I already have Stainless Steel installed, but this one sounds very interesting.. and I don't want to go screwing something up and end up not being able to play anything. If nothing else, I'll uninstall Stainless Steel, but I was just wondering if it's a must.

    Thanks.

I haven't played SS but I can still answer your question.

First and foremost does SS install its own folder or does it overwrite MTW:2?

If it installs its own folder, yes because TLR also install its own seperate folder meaning you can have both at the same time without any problems.

If it overwrites then no, if this is the case then create two MTW:2 directories (copy and paste the MTW:2 folder to another area and install TLR there). Also if this is the case you should ask SS mod creators to make its own folder, theres no reason it shouldn't be.

    Hope this helps.

Switching from a overrite to a mod switch installer is pretty easy. Hell I can do it with a bit of messing with registry (minus the installer part... I'll just put it in a rar).

    To create life:
    Install M2tw
Move the folder of m2tw or rename it
    Install patch 1.2
    Install mod
Put the Medieval 2 folder (The one with the patch and mod stuff in it) into an archive
There we have it. A patch and mod installer all in one! Do similar stuff with any number of steps to have a x, y and z all in one installer as well.

That's a little bit off topic. Anyway to create a mod switcher version of something.
    Install m2tw
Move the m2tw folder or rename it
    install mod
Create a new folder in the m2tw directory (the one the mods in) called "mod x"
Move everything in the m2tw directory (the one the mods in) inside mod x
Create a shortcut of any m2tw exe
Move it over to THe m2tw directory (The one the mods in) at this point everything else besides this shortcut should be in the Mod x folder
Add @Mod X to the command line of the shortcut
Assemble/archive/compile whatever and theres yer mod switcher installer featuring a shortcut.

Very interesting, thanks for the info.. both of you.

FYI, yes Stainless Steel does appear to install itself in a separate folder. I do have another question, but it's off topic so I'll just create a new thread. Thanks again guys
