    SOUNDMOD-RELOADED By IHATEMONDAY
    http://hosted.filefront.com/Rioth/
Narses Justinian campaign mod will be made available.

Notes Although this mod is indebted to Ramon and IB teams great mod, it was from the start to try and develop the Rio mod into how I envisioned it should be. Its my only hope to have left my own thumb print in this mod, in a mod that has some other remarkable thumbprints on it.

Ciao and Wellcome Rio... VI ! ! !

Downloaded mod & soundmod and started to look at unit_info cards, EDU & EDB files, I found that the release is the .rar version ... you know that I have installed 5.5 mod switch version, and I don't think that copy & paste the unzipped files on Rio 5.5 folder it will works :hmmm:...
I could manually delete the Rio 5.5 folder and install Rio VI in the main folder... The Rome Total War main directory is clean (RTW & BI Gold edition), with the exception of the intro movie coming from IBFD7 (upgraded to 7,03 and then 7,04 with all soundmod) that is installed too in the Rome Total War main directory with it's own folder, no other mods installed in this.
I think that it will works then, but I would like to be sure ... even thinkingk to Justinian Campaign post by Narses... and to Soundmod adapted for RIO VI that I think it will overwrite the one installed for IBFD...
Maybe better a standalone RTW&BI for RIOV6, Justinian Campaign & Soundmod for RIO VI...?
    ayeaye Sir...

Yes Margio the Rio IBFD VI is only available in rar at the moment. Margio your on the right track there. To currently make the mod switcher work we could copy or drop the bi/data folder from Rio IBFD VI rar over the Rio folder from the Rio V mod switch overwriting existing files. Then a tiny patch for I think only two files , the descr_model_battle and the descr_projectile_new... the files necessary for in game battles.

    Ciao Rio,
    thanks for quick reply ...
Once unzipped RIO VI there are three folders:
    * bi where inside there is the data folder with your mod. What is inside have to be copied in rio folder (that is the 5.5 mod switch): right?
    * data where there are with model_strat, ui, wonders folders: those folders have to be copied? If yes where? In the data folder of the main RTW&BI?
    * scripts folders for Campaigns: that is known.
Finally what do you mean with tiny patch? I look in both files (RIO VI and RIO 5.5) and I would like to make disasters ...
    Thanks for your help ...

    Hi Juba1,
The installer by default will install the files in the main RTW directory but you may want to copy your RTW gold edition files to another folder and change the installation path to that folder.

The Sound mod: dl to your desk top or folder somewhere.
1Copy or paste bi folder over rtw folder or where your game is.
    2Change the name events.dat and events.idx to oldevents dat,oldevents.idx in bi/data/sounds folder

I rarely use them, but once the original unit has climbed the walls in a tower, you may need to set the move destination for another unit on the wall ledge itself for it to climb up using the tower.

    Hi Juba1,
I've been looking at this. Its quite strange. The stone wall sieges appear okay but the large wall seige to have a problem. Sometimes(in small groups) I got the original unit to go up if I went up when on normal unit speed. But the seige towers look like they are not meant to seige the particular wall. I'll continue to look at this issue and hopefully get some more insight soon

Also try Beetecats suggestion and see if they go up the tower.

    Rio -

I think that's true - that the huge walls are too big for siege towers. Somehow the game is allowing them to be built during those sieges, apparently. Possibly even ladders too?

I would think that only battering rams and sap points would be available for those walls.

The image certainly makes it look like they'd work just fine, however.

I went back and did a test on the vanilla bi game... oh my so weird to play that again .. but I had the same issue using same variables...Sassanid faction, and the siege of a a large stone wall. I had to be very patient and use normal unit speed and not run.

I'm hoping to add darths ai formations 16.2 soon. Currently I'm using darths ai formations 2.0 This will be a great improvement on the ai and I'll see if there's a better tower siege and not that cluster f***bleep

    16.2 from version 2.0? that's quite a leap!

Yes,... that it is. I don't remember seeing anything in between lol

I figured out the problem to Juba1 issue. The IB 7.0 walls file I had in there conflicted with the ai file(darths 2.0 ai-formations) I had to go back and use the orig. wall txt file and it now is compatible with darths ai formations 16.2. So I'll patch it here...

Install wall fix and darths ai formations-16.2

    Rio
I have tried several times to install IHM soundmod(I use it on IBFD7.04, a must for for all those who play IBFD by the way).
I copy/paste the bi folder as per instructions and the change the events.dat and events.idx to oldevents.dat to oldevents.idx. and the result is no sound other that ambient sounds ie no music or speech.
Does this version have issues with RTWGold/BI ?
    any advise would be appreciated
    Salut!

Hmmm... hope these instructions are correct. If not maybe do 2 first then 1? were these the intructions as posted below? Please let me know....I have it working on my comp but I'll test it again tonight or tomorrow.

1Copy or paste bi folder over rtw folder or where your game is.
    2Change the name events.dat and events.idx to oldevents dat,oldevents.idx in bi/data/sounds folder

I figured it out! When pasting the IHM bi folder into the RTW folder the sound mod folder was not pasted into the bi/data/sounds folder. Instead was parked off in the bi directory ?I copied/pasted the sound mod folder into the bi/data/sounds folder and all was well.
Sorry for the trouble.....I peaked into my IBFD 7.04 set and found that the IHM installer had done it this way.
    Cheers
All hail Riothamus a most noble Artifex!
