    Icon7 Character Names Project Finished for Kingdoms

    Just to announce that Character Names Project has completed the 4 Kingdoms campaigns, which can all be now played with accurate Character Names.

    I would like to thank everybody that contributed names and gave feedback.

    I thought it was well known. Well here's what I know:

    In all LTC versions that use CNP, all of my campaign have ended in CTDs that you can't get around. And others including Lusted have the same problem. I switched back to vanilla names in my LTC, and haven't had a crash since. Future LTC versions will not be using CNP (at least the next version won't).

    Lusted never said anything to me about it, so I don't know. Never heard of a name problem in Stainless Steel, which I play and also uses CNP.

    If Lusted or somebody could tell me the problem, I could help.

    There's a few names in the files that are buggy. Including, accent symbols within the brackets in the names.txt

    If I remember correctly, the Scotland list in particular seems to be problematic. I'm pretty sure you can't have two names with a space in the first names list - e.g. Gille Aireis. There has to be an underscore between them or you get a blank name - Gille_Aireis

    And whenever a trait trigger fires on a character with no name, you get a CTD.

    I did report them in the CNP bug thread awhile ago but nothing seemed to happen.

    Is the Portuguese problem that was was in CNP 2.0 that is effecting you? I fixed that CTD problem in CNP 3.0. Did you update the files correctly?

    Update the Portuguese names in LTC with the present ones in CNP 3.0, and then tell me if there are problems.

    I thought I had fixed as many of them I could find, but maybe there are more that I left out. I will realise a final version of CNP sometime soon, hopefully without any problems.

    But I'm sure though that the Portuguese names should be okay, because I took extra care with them for 3.0 as 2.0 had problems with them.

    Edit - I see how the Scottish problem could happen, I will fix that. But Portugal looks good.

    I even tried going through and fixing various problems with the names that i could see but the CTDs still happened even with those.

    Hum, I have heard of no other problems with other mods though for the Portuguese, did you definitely use the list from 3.0?

    Maybe we could move this discussion to its proper forum?

    Yes i used the 3.0 list, the problem no longer seems to be with portugal, but now with other factions like Scotland, or names with accents in them etc.

    Hum.

    At least Portugal is okay then. I will fix Scotland for 4.0, and anything else I see.

    Maybe people could make a list of problems in the proper forum so they can be fixed?

    The problem is it is very difficult to know what names are causing the problems as generally you will not encounter the characters with no names.
