    Default How *DO* I fully uninstall M2TW?

    Hi, I need to know how to completely uninstall M2TW. What I normally do is delete the program fully (according to the add/remove programs) and all its files. Next, I go to my programs and delete the SEGA folder, since the uninstall leaves some hidden files in the config folder.
    After this I reboot, than reinstall. However, something is still left.
    The first time I installed the game, it worked fine. However, after changing something in descr_strat it got all wierd and displayed unit names below them in the campaign. Since there are so many diplomats, generals etc., this got very jumbled. As well, city names are not below them unless I hover the mouse over it.
    I have reinstalled tha game 3 times now, and have given up. If I am not uninstalling completely, please tell me how. Or, better yet, if someone knows how to fix the bug, that would be better.

    Ave Aohd,

    You need to check if there is any registries were left. And I think leaving Config's is a bit necessary because if city names are disappearing, thats no good. I can't really help anymore because I don't own m2.

    It should be in game options (in campaign); else you can edit these values under 'game' in medieval2.preferences.cfg

    label_characters = 0
    label_settlements = 1

    When I open that folder (it comes up in notepad), all that is listed is the following:

    [video]
    widescreen=0
    [game]
    allusers=1

    Do you mean I have to physically write in label_characters = 0 and label_settlements = 1 ?

    You shouldn't...

    Try doing a search on your computer for 'medieval2.preference.cfg'; that file can migrate to unlikely locations

    It didn't work... I found the right file, and made sure what u posted above was how it was written. Label characters is set to 0, but it still shows them... I have tried reversing it, but to no avail.
