    Default Rotten cows?

I've never managed to kill anyone with cows, except with direct hits, which are extremely uncommon. Units seem to have no trouble walking right next to the green, fly-filled clouds that erupt from the carcasses when they land. They're, simply put, rather useless. What do you use them for? Morale penalty? Starting a plague in the settlement you're besieging? What? If they weren't so much fun I wouldn't be using them at all...

Maybe make a Bubonic Knights campaign - but who wants a plagued city? I use spies if I want to pull stuff like that.

That's it? Ok... I sent away about 20 of them right in front of a single unit of peasants, who didn't budge. I guess they really are useless, then.

peasants already have low morale so its not that great to use them on them but once you start to charge them they will run faster than normal

It's still rather useless... Imagine if people standing near a carcass would, like, puke... or faint, or something. Horses run away, elephants go nuts. Fun!

It just weakens em, they're great when defending cities, lob a few in the attacks path and weaken em down. Can be quite an ace up the sleeve.

They make low tier units break with extreme ease, just throw a few cows, let them affect the enemie and then WAIT for the cow's effect to wear out (wait for the flies to go away then attack, if you attack a unit who was only attacked recently by the cows then your units will be affected aswell.).

Altho i find it much easier to bombard them with flaming rocks. It's also cooler
