    Dell
    2GB DDR2 SDRAM
    128 MB Nvidia Geforce 8300
    320 GB SATA Harddrive
Windows Vista, Damn Companies I hate it when they support Micro$
    Inspiron 531 Athlon 64 x2 4400 2.6 Ghz
    Intergrated Sound card

Now Excuse me, I must find a way to make 2,000$ really quick.......

That graphics card isn't the greatest for gaming, but it would probably run the game. Your biggest problem will be getting Rome to run on Vista, methinks. The CPU is good and it has the minimum amount of RAM I would use for gaming on Vista.

It's hardly a disaster as long as the graphics card's not intergrated, CPU's still pretty good but it's no Core 2 Duo but that won't really matter for a game like Rome. Just check you can change the graphics card and replace it with a x1950 pro or 7900. Be a perfectly fine mid range system then.

A game with thousands of units on the screen at once requires a CPU that can handle all those individual AI calculations and whether effects, as well as handling the instructions from the video card, trust me Rome needs a decent CPU all RTS games need a powerful CPU for those reasons. It’s just shame CA haven’t released a dual core patch for Rome and MedII, both games would really benefit from the extra horse power.

As for the PC, I’ll go along with what everyone else has said, its needs a better video card.

    Ave Engineers of Rome,

Will you be able to predict how many men, at what graphics settings can I run with Rome?

Conisdering Rome is 2 years old now, it's not really a good benchmark for your system. It'll run just fine on that system as a matter of fact. With newer stuff, that GPU is gonna be a bit of a bottleneck.

That GPU is a piece of junk...but it should suffice for most battles in Rome...though my old 6800GT puts that video card to shame.

The graphics card is pretty trashy and the CPU is average, however that should run Rome at maximum settings at a good resolution.

Don't expect any of the newer released games to run at max on that PC.

I realise that Freddie, but that cpu exceeds what peopel had when rome was released, so it will be perfectly fine for the game.

According to the Dell website its $649.

Dell won't let you have anything above a 8600 GT, which is a showing for such a big company. I guess its to make people buy the PC's with the more expensive CPU's or that the fastest card the PSU can handle.

At this point I would normally say build you own for the same money or less, but since you can't even fit ram I'm lothed to do that.

Firstly: it needs a far better graphics card.

Secondly: Freddie, I have heard that Kingdoms introduces support for dual core CPU's. Whether this means that it will not run slower on dual core, or if it actually makes use of both cores, I am unsure. I am also unsure as to whether the rumours are eve true.

Since Dell own Alienware they let them deal with the high grade stuff, Dell wouldn't sell the ultimate ultimate stuff because that would stop people shopping at AW.

It sucks about your dad getting that crappy PC RC, I guess your powers of persuasion didn't work, thats whats bad about old folk, they don't know much about PC's.

    Ave Duke,

He has lots of money, but when ever the time is right there goes my friggin brother to get him mad. I swear, my older brother is almost 20 and he still doesn't even have a job. My dad knows a lot about PC's, he told me what he to pick out the parts from his instructions, but the apprentice always surpasses the master.

I guess this new computer couldn't hold anything Rome threw at it. And Considering it's a Dell, upgrading it is going to be a nightmare. Also, I'm not payed in any way for chores. I was so desperate for a game I had to pull out StarCraft after not playing it in 4 years.

if he is considering a dell then i must disagree. dell is a craptastic company, the only thing i remotely allow dell to do is to sell company computers. For gaming the best is to always build yourself, have a friend build it if you cannot, or use a custom site that doesnt give you the shaft. avoid mass producers as if they had the plague with a side of herpes.
