    Default big map

I'm not sure if you agree. I always prefered big maps. Many cities. Many resources. It looked fine.

But - I'm not sure - I supose that AI is better on small map. When I was playing small map - I usually fought battles that are hard indeed. I was suprised by attacks or something like that.

When I was playing mods with bigger maps - My impression was that AI cannot cope with more moving possibilites and plays really worse

Bigger map means less siege battles and more field battles. The way to go.

Storming the same citadel for the 10000000000th time (even Ragusa) is just boring...

i think another reasing for the AI being harder on smaller maps, is that it builds more units than you can build.
on a big map, on the other hand, you can overwhelm the AI with taking more rebel settlements faster than the AI
