Early,High ad Late periods in campaign,
Im just wondering what is the trigger for the new periods in each of the campaigns?
In M2TW it was the warning of th mongol invasion for high period and then the warning for the Timurids as Late period.
What are they in the Kingdoms campaign.

Re: Early,High ad Late periods in campaign,
There are no eras in vanilla M2TW. I think you are referring to mods? If so, then modders will have to make some up unless CA added them to Kingdoms (I don't have my copy yet so I dunno :/ )

There are no eras in M2TW or Kingdoms. That was from MTW1.

I mean when new units become available due to an era.
There are new units in each era.

Re: Early,High ad Late periods in campaign,
Judging from the mercs file that's still pretty much the same. You'd have to check the units file to see which one is for what period.
Could try custom battles as well, IIRC (I never play those) you have an option there, could be faster.

Re: Early,High ad Late periods in campaign,
Units do not become available at certain dates, they become availalable as soon as you build the buildings for them. The eras in custom battles are just to divide the units into the different time periods in history they would have been in.

Re: Early,High ad Late periods in campaign,
Mercs are still date and event-'locked', though. In the crusade one only the 'crusade' event is commented out, for obvious reasons

Re: Early,High ad Late periods in campaign,
Turks even still have the message at faction selection : Lacks late period heavy calvalry. And as noted, they didn't change the merc any besides the uber-obvious. Wonder if it works entirely 'era-free' as intended, people complain about not getting their apache elite even when they've got the buildings.

Re: Early,High ad Late periods in campaign,
oh right, those are periods. now I get what you meant.
sure, the era = medieval.
by the way, i got one complaint too. I've got the templar guilds (minor, and also the greater or w/e it's called), and still can only build templar spearmen.
there's sth fishy going on
