I'm playing with spain in the america campaign and I'm wondering why war galleys are the oly ships that can be constructed. Did spain really use ships with oars at this time? Will I be able to build the Grande Carrack later on?

Spain probably didn't use war galleys in the New World. They were not suited to cross the ocean. Later in the game after you have constructed a dry dock you can build grande carracks. You have to be stinking rich to pay the upkeep of 350 though.
Officer to a soldier who refuses to fight: There three types of soldiers who don't have to fight. They are called KIA, MIA and POW and you are not one of them.
Tosa will be missed.

And you dont really need awesome fleets cuz the natives dont have anything that floats
