Installation Error

Hey, I just recently bought a new computer and tried to install M2:TW. I am using Windows Vista, and know that I more than meet the system requirements.

After I install the game, I try to open it and get this error:

medieval2.exe -Unable To Locate Component

This application has failed to start because D3DX9_30.DLL was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

So I try to re-install the game and keep getting the same error. Is there a fix for this? Any help is appreciated.

Thats a DirectX error. Vista ships with DirecctX 10, M2TW uses DirectX 9. I had no problems with my Vista install but some people have been installing DirectX 9 on Vista and solving problems like that. You can install it next to DirectX 10 without any problems, get it from the Microsoft website.

Yeah, you need to grab the redistributable version of directx9 off the microsoft website; no dx9 game will run without it.
