    Default Your favourite campaign

I couldn't believe noone has started such topic yet...

As in title, what is your guys favourite campaign?

By favourite I mean, which you find most pleasant to play, being also demanding (hence not boring), action driven and having many tide-changing events, or whatever makes you think certain campaign is good.

I can't add poll for some reason coz i can't find the button maybe someone will fix this !

For me, it is the TEUTONIC CAMPAIGN. Lithuanians (H/H) are very hard for me due to really weak economic position and diplomacy problems. (no cash = no gifts. no gifts = weak relations. weak relations = war) so it adds some spice. it takes at least 2 days to win with lithuania. besides there is some merchant cheat computer AI is using so he generates like 500-700 florins on routes where i can generate 100 florins with a much better merchant (and i've got the trade rights!). Teutonic order has also economical problems but has better units and less enemies than lith. +good cash giving missions. and come on, order spearmen in the beginning of the game is freewin vs any cavalry. 20 armor as first tier unit? that is sick !
And the BEST thing about teutonic campaign is 45 lands win condition which makes it longest of all

As for others, I just find BRITTANIA CAMPAIGN too easy (no mounted archers which are so wtfhard for teutonic order). Although I like the culture idea instead of religion.

CRUSADES campaign is very nice but the power centres idea is not so brilliant because its hard to lose one against AI, computer never seems to do massive attacks on your capital.

AMERICAS campaign is very boring, from top it looks like 1000 peasants vs 1000 peasants. Only spain and france/english reinforcements add some steel to the equipment. Funny its only campaign with activable crusade (called warpath) !

    Waiting for your opinions!

I enjoy the Americas campaign the most right now, I'm playing as the Aztecs. Right off the bat the Spanish-Tlaxcalan alliance is formed and I'm trying to fight off both, man it's a riot.

I also have a Teutonic and Crusades campaign going on. Antioch is just plain fun, but I'm finding it a little easy right now. I'm also playing the Teutons having some economy issues, Lithuania doesn't seem to have those problems and I've been fending them off for a bit.

I think computer has some sick financial advantage over you for some reason which I didn't get yet.

As lithuania I saw teutonic order just swim in money. They seemed to have 20k + florins (according to rankings) and a very good production so they were spending it (what kind of income is that then?!)

The other way round, lithuania was badass rich and I was just poor teutons with not a single florin!

As I mentioned, AI merchants are imbalanced as well. I would need professional remarks on AI economy though, maybe I overlooked something.

I hadn't really thought of playing multiple campaigns at once. I'm currently enjoying the living hell out of my Britannia Campaign as Wales.

Year is 1406, destroyed England and the Barons Alliance, moving into Scottish territory and funny enough they're close friends with the Vikings, they never fight, both still have their original territories.

Americas the number one! I had really good time crushing Aztecs and other indians with my Conquistadores. Next, when i play america, i play the Apache. They look interesting. Spanish Dragoons, Mounted Thunder braves etc. great units.
Teutons had their dark "evil" feeling which i love. Right now my Ritterbrüders are obliterating those Polish dogs who betrayed me when Lithuania converted to catholism. Great campaing.
Crusades i havent much played, but have some nice units, especially Byzantines are "pimped" With Flamethrowers, and zweihanders.
Britannia... Well thats the least interesting campaing. Propably start with Norway and make everyone in foggy islands speak Norwegian.

for me its a draw between brittania campaign an the teutonic im having a blast as norway and i realy like the culture thingy so that you cant recruit you best units just after you capture an enemy settelment. The teutonic campaign are just plain awsomeness, Ritterbrüders need i say more. I find the american campaign dull and kinda borring i will rather have knights fighting knights than "knights" steamrolling people without armour. I have not gotten in to the Crusade campaign yet so dont know whether i like it or not

I'm still on my first campain as the Vikings in Brittania. It's really fun and I've had some great battles. Everything whent well until William Wallace appeard, I've decided not to adopt och pich any "Man of the Hour", so I had a nervour period when my king died in battle. This left me with only one family member.

Anyway, the young prince grew up and even though I've had a red treasury the latest ten turns, the scots are left with only one settlement. Don't know the year, but the barons just rebelled.

I think I will play lithuania again (or novgorod but it's too easy I think, well, poland maybe?) and concentrate more on diplomacy.

Its easy to get alliance with novgorod, I think maybe i can ally mongols but they sure need to get paid pretty well. Once HRE starts a fight with poland i can easily ally with poland as well. thats the key to win i think, get some alliances. Because you can't depend on russians who can attack 2 danish cities and like 3 teutonic cities and get their ass kicked anyways.

    god i love teutonic campaign!

but culture is sooooo much better than religion =( I hate priests coming from teutonic/poles/hre to my lithuania, and orthodox coming from russians. thats just too much : ) there are no priests in brittania campaign which is the only plus for this campaign i think, well, ok, music is awesome too

I just love the Americas campaign on H/H. It's quite realistic actually, since it seems almost impossible to defeat full stack European armies with a full stack Apachean army which is quite good. Now I really have to rely on force in numbers and even then my tactics have to work perfectly since one mistake can result in you losing. I haven't even tried other campaigns yet but the Teutonic campaign seems very interesting so I'm going to give that one a go after the Americas campaign.

i can't help but have the feeling the crusades campaign is the most boring one to me. it's well done and thought out on its own but just kinda bland and the AI cheating on you (saladin spamming 4 new full stack armies every round? no thanks).

teutonic was cool so far, americas was something different but i didn't like it THAT much.

the britannia is sort of like the surprise. it's a quite fine campaign in fact and i like either bashing highlanders or fighting for scottish freedom. england was kinda strong lately tho, kinda very strong, on VH when i played as scotland.

I'm really enjoying the crusades campaign as Antioch at the moment. All sides have large armies and you get interesting special units like Canons of the Holy Sepulchre - Heavily armoured, 2 handed sword wielding knights with 2 hitpoints!!! The islamic factions also look good as you've got much lighter troops than the crusaders so you have to think a bit more. (Have a look at my AAR on the link below if you want more details)

When I'm done with this campaign I'm definately going to try the Teutonic campaign. Not sure which side to pick yet though.

    @numio : depends what you prefer =]

If you think you are hardcore diplomat and strategist, go for lithuania. If you like egypt-like factions, take russia (safe position, a friend nearby, and light versatile troops).

Unlock poland if you want something between lithuania and teutons.

Take teutons if you still like your high armored armies but be aware of economical problems.

finally, you can take denmark which is easiest faction of all to my mind.

    enjoy ;]

@numio: I have played a little with Lithuania and more with Teutonics. Teutonics are quite fun, there are some definite economy issues in the start and it's hard to get rolling right away. As for Lithuania, I didn't have as much economy trouble but you are surrounded by potential enemies. Novgorod usually wants to ally with you, but you still have the Mongols below, Teutons to the left and Danes above. The skins are what mostly turned me off from Lithuania, those big weird hoods and silly colours leave a bad taste in my mouth. Now that I've played mods I can't go back to Flamboyant: Total War.

Has anyone else tried a Mesoamerican faction in Kingdoms? Everyone seems to be playing either Spain or Apaches. I know they are all quite similar but I highly recommend the Aztecs if you want a more challenging Americas campaign. They probably have the most unique Mesoamerican roster anyways and Eagle Warriors are quite tough compared to other Mesoamerican infantry.

The Spaniards and Tlaxcalans ally right away and they both really don't like you. I love it, it's like you really are the brutal Aztec overlords and everyone wants to take you down. I managed to secure an Alliance with the Tarascans but our relations aren't that great so who knows what will happen next.

    I'm playing as the Mayans.
They are very similar to the Aztecs troop-wise.
Think only difference is hornet throwers and the priest-chanting units(Aztecs got the coyotes and Mayans got priests of Kukulkan).
But the mayans control a smaller empire and is a tad safer since they are surrounded by rebels(however they are close to the spainish).

So far the American campaign is just fantastic.
The clash between the modern world and the old world is fun to watch and doesn't matter which side you pick because you will have to fight viciously.
As Spain you have to fight against hordes of angry natives and don't expect them to be a push over.
Just look at this battle I had just outside Chichen Itza as the spanish.

    It was just nasty.

And as a native you have to go up against hordes of natives who are equal to you in troop strength so the battles comes down to best tactics.
And then of course you have to go up against europeans .

Do the Chimichec Tribes count as one? I liked them a lot, they seem like a mix of Apaches and Mesoamerican factions. They get mounted lancers and musketeers at the end too.

    EDIT: 100 posts!

Yeah I don't know what to count them as, they seem to be a mix of North and South, interesting. I might play them instead of the Apaches in my next campaign.

Hmm, they are all good, and I haven't yet finished one, but from what I have played, the crusader campaign is the most fun. Everyone is highly developed at the start, and huge battles with great troops happen early and often.

you sound like you didn't play teutonic campaign did you ;]

Why teutonic campaign > crusades campaign? Because there are basically ZERO rebel cities (60% lands of crusades campaign is rebel. 35 lands requirements so you just take rebel ones). in teutonic campaign you have to get 45 (!!) lands from OTHER FACTIONS (there are basically no rebel settlements, ok maybe one for each faction to get warmed up )

crusades has a lot LESS action than teutonic. and is hence too EASY for players that want to have their ass beaten (god i love losing like 5 lands them fighting for them then losing again etc etc. winning all the time would be boring wouldn't it )

Yeah, I have played all of them. The Teutonic campaingn is fun too, but there is just not as much money to be had, therefore fewer armies.

And there are more rebel settlements than you think in the teutonic campaingn, and they are for the most part tiny villages.
