    Default Idea: Teutonic Campaign - Norway

    hey!

    Norway its featured in 2 campaigns, but only playable in one, but how can norway be able to be played and hire troops on teutonic campaign, how unlock it? Anybody interested in make it possible ?

    Hey Ataegina!

    Norway its featured in 2 campaigns, and its also playable in both campaigns.
    yeah you can unlock it Go to your (Medieval 2 directory) example c:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\teutonic\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign and open descr_strat.txt with a text-editor.

    There you will see alot of text! just change the head of it to this:

    Custom campaign script generated by Romans Campaign Map Editor

    campaign imperial_campaign
    playable
    teutonic_order
    lithuania
    denmark
    novgorod
    hre
    poland
    norway
    mongols
    slave
    end
    unlockable
    end
    nonplayable
    kalmar_union
    end

    Then you can play the campgain as NORWAY

    But Im not sure you can hire troops.. and there are no primary GOALS like capture 30 regions.

    Maybe I will make a mod for the campaign of norway A campaign with goals like each other faction. and you can recruit troops aswell!

    well i did it, but you can't hire troops O_o , question still how make it working !? maybe some changes on campaign_script ??

    You will have to rewrite the desc_building text so norway will recruit units. I will be making norway a playable faction in the kingdoms vedicated mod.

    Hello!
    I've tried to add Norway - I unlocked the faction in the descr_strat, unpacked the data and edited the export_descr_buildings.txt (I simply added norway to all danish units)
    In the game nothing showed up so i figured I need the --io.file_first option. But when I add this to the launch command, the game crashes without a comment.
    I've never done a mod before (not for any game) so I'm new to this - what am I doing wrong / forgetting?

    The units you add to Norway in the Export_descr_building must be added also in te export_descr_unit

    Yeah, the units already were added to norway in there. So that's not the problem

    Just a suggestion, instead of adding the danish troop roster to Norway, maybe you can add the Norwegian troop roster from the Brittania Campaign.

    I got it working - it only was a small typo in the descr_building. I'm completely baffled, so far no problems
    Grazz: Yeah I wanted to do that, but I couldn't figure out what the differences between danish and norwegian units are. They seem to have the same roster. (Those textfiles are awful to read)

    Playing with Norway with the Norwaigian troos from the Britannia campign is gonna own.
    I hope that by the time I'll finish my crusader campaign there will be some mod that will allow it, if yes, I'll be the first to download it.(well, if I'll see it first XD)

    Edit: I meant playing as them in the Teutonic campaign.

    actually teutonic campaign since they've norway also, would be great if we had map more expand to north including more norway (trondheim/nidaros)

    ok here is the file ... I added the danish roster to norway, except for scouts, and I added the kalmar union units per default (because otherwise norway wouldnt have a chance to get Gotland Footmen)

    i've tried and stills the same not working, i've upload your file on my mods\teutonic\data\.......

    and in game nothing have changed, even deleting the map.rwm....... =/

    (i don't have kingdoms unpacked...)

    you have to add io.file_first to your launcher or ini file... but you should get these files anyway:

    they seem to be more complete than my mod, they also include the kalmar fix for denmark.

    its nor fair how you cant recruit but there is one thing that i have noticed you cant build churches either
