    Default Unlimited_men_on_battlefield

    I know that everyone keeps saying that the easiest way to get rid of that "reinforcements delayed" message is to simply change 'unlimited_men_on_battlefield' to 1 instead of 0 in the medieval2.preference.cfg file. However, I have searched the file many times and cannot find 'unlimited_men_on_battlefield' displayed anywhere. I even tried just typing 'unlimited_men_on_battlefield = 1' in myself but when I entered the game it had no effect. I've updated to 1.3 and have Total War Kingdoms installed too. Anyone have any idea why this isn't showing up?

    You have to type it in the right section, I think it goes in the Video section but cant remember. If that doesnt work put it in the Misc section.

    It goes under the [game] section

    I've tried it under every section. Nothing works.

    I reinstalled the game and after playing for a while I noticed that the medieval2.preference file only has this in it:

    [video]
    widescreen=0
    [game]
    allusers=1

    That's it! My old medieval2.preference file was filled with stuff but now that I've reinstalled and have played the game a few hours there's hardly anything in it. I can even remove the file from the directory and run the game just fine. This file doesn't seem to have any effect on the game whatsoever.

    Running vista?

    The file is in C:\users\[username]\AppData\ (should be in the local folder, iirc, though check the others if you can't find it)

    Yes, I'm running Vista and I checked the appdata directory and found the file. I was able to edit the file and it worked! Thank you very much.

    C:\Users\Craig\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War
    i am trying to get the cinEd working, just wondering if anyone has got this working in vista (as the files are split, i found the replays in the above folder and the exe in the below)

    C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War

    It should make no difference to the application if the files appear split in explorer, so the usual instructions should work
