09:40:42.135 [system.rpt] [error] Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit.

I've been having quite a few crashes. Whenever I have a large battle(full stack vs. full stack+) it crashes on me. It used to do it a lot in MTWII, but I've never known what to do. I usually just always simulate battles since I can't do them, but with Kingdoms I'd really like to get into the fray.

I'm having the same problem as James, which files do you delete?

Did CA tell us to delete these files? I cannot find any such instruction.

    Thanks

I'd like help on this too.

    It gets really annoying.

I want to kill Spaniards, darn it!

If you unpacked the shebang and use file_first etc, you need to delete

    data\descr_geography_new.txt
    data\descr_geography_new.db

that's usually the problem if battles don't load at all.

I have no problem for large battle; in fact, it seems the game actually love large battle. They just do not let me fight against European (crush everytime).

I believe it is the new strategy of Papal States.

If you didn't unpack anything, you're not going to find it.

If you did - best do a search for them with Windows search, and delete ANY instance.

I have had a variation of this problem happen to me. Only with my game it crashes whenever I try to load up any battle. But funnily enough it only does this in the Crusader and Teutonic campaigns. It also does it in the main game. I can play battles just fine in the Americas and Britannia campaigns though.

    Very confusing.....

I have checked out the official forum, and it seems it is a common error (since a lot of people complain). The easiest solution is to low your graphic quality and change shadow version to version one. If that does not work then reinstall the game... completely. If still not work post your situation on official forum... FINALLY IF IT STILL DOES NOT WORK THEN JUST BOMABRD CA!!!!
