Inspiron 1720 laptop: Will it run MTW II?

well i recently purchased an inspiron 1720 laptop from dell...and i was wondering if it would run fairly with MTW II?

here are the specs:
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition,
Intel Core 2 Duo T7100, 1.8GHz, 800Mhz, 2M L2 Cache
2GB, DDR2, 667MHz 2 Dimm
128MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 8400
160G 5400RPM SATA hard drive 5400 RPM

so how far can i go with this laptop?

Ehh, it will probably run it.

You will probably have to turn the graphics down though.

Everything but your processor and graphics card check out. You May actually due fine with your processor as it is a Intel Core Duo, and a little with your graphic card, you might be able to run a battle of 4000 men with no lag.

I don't see any problems with that rig, gpu's a bit meh but if you were after amazing vizuals you wouldn't be playing on a laptop. Low to medium on the graphics settings should be fine.

so is the "NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS" better than the "NVIDIA GeForce Go 8400M GS"?

I would have to say yes, 8400 is low end , 7900gs is mid range, the only thing that the 8400GS technically excels at is it can render in DX10, which is a useless reason to buy one for because it won't for the life of it be able to render in dx10 at a stable frame rate.

since its low end...it can barley handle MTWII? but handle RTW very well?

the cpu is what is important in rome and medieval not the gpu, since you have a good cpu i don't think you should have trouble running either, you just won't be able to run on high settings.

Probably be able to run Rome at medium-High settings, I would of thought. It is, afterall, a game that is a couple of years old. May even scrape some settings on high.

is there any tweaks i should do to make the game run pretty smooth? i remember doing tweaks for rtw on my desktop comp...but i was wondering if im able to apply this on the laptop as well...
