Default Woot! 30 turns of assassination! Now, Hungary lies in ruins!

Hungary had an empire stretching from Constantinople to Staufen. From Corinth Poland.

My "puny" empire of England, Northern Spain, Northern Italy, and France would need decades to finish the Kingdom of Hungary.
So, the training of assassins began!
After 30 years of wars in the shadows, the Hungarian bloodline lies in ruins.
The women weep at the feet of their husbands, who were hit with rocks, bitten by snakes, or stabbed in broad daylight.

The Kingdom of Hungary lies in total anarchy. All cities, taken over by squabbling minor kingdoms.

Unfortunately, the Supreme kingdom of Russia (for it IS supreme) can try to expand. The weakened kingdom of the Byzantines can try to recover its former glory, and the tiny kingdom of sicily can try to gain the status of a world power.

Anyone else used assassinations to finish an enemy? I will post a screenshot of the Hungary in anarchy later. I took like 12 assassinations to finish off the Hungarians.

excellent man, i love using my assassins , but do you have any tricks to share ? because it's usually quite hard to assassinate a leader of faction for exemple.

train your assassins on captains and other easy targets, then save your game before trying it on a leader. if it fails, reload, do something else, then come back and try it again.

Yeah, it was a few years of buildup and training.
    95% chance to kill captains.
I didnt reload once, and Hungary never got more pissed at me. They were my allies for OVER 100 turns. I have then more then 20,000 in cash, and they use it to expand towards me! They take out HRE and are at my doorstep.
Couldnt allow it. Now, everything from Constantinople to Staufen. Everything from Corinth to Poland, is rebel country.

Did you reload your game if you failed an assasination atepmt?

    If so, it doesn't count.

Sounds like something you'd try once and then regret wasting 30 years of good battle opportunities... but then, so long as its a horse archer faction, its alright

Assassins are the best! Although I've never used one on a faction leader or a heir. Always counteract and kill me assassins.

    Ahh.
All the leftover rebel cities are filled with silver chevron+ professional armies...

I've done it twice now in my current campaign as the English. Finished off the Scots and the French using assassins, and I'm working on killing off Milan. France was a ***** to finish off though, as eveyr single turn they'd replace the family member I had just killed, so it wasn't until I trained up 2 more assassins that I could take out their 3rd family member, the heir, and the leader (in that order) all in one turn. Their last city, Bern, ended with a full stack army garrisoned in it from the resulting rebel armies. As an aside, how France managed to field 3 and a half full stack armies consistently and recoup their losses every turn with just a castle and the kings purse providing income is beyond me.

    I think the AI cheats.

Are King's purses different for every faction?

I personally am very happy about how one of my assassination campaigns came out during my current campagin as Egypt; I wiped out five generations of Turkish leadership (two sultans and three faction heirs) over the course of my war with them, not to mention countless diplomats, merchants, captains, and Imams.

My Sultan has max authority, max dread and the epithet 'the Tyrant' because of this wonderful strategem.

Yes, it varies from faction to faction, from 500-1500 I believe.

Well, Russia and England, as I have observed, have 2500 each.

Check the campaign scripts: if the factions are losing bigtime and make no money, the AI indeed gets freeby troops and extra cash - and I mean every turn. Money scripts and garrisoning scripts straight from the start.
