Patch caper

Okay quick question, I'm sure you've heard it plenty of times but I have the fresh original version on MTW2 and tried to install the patch 1.2 with the editors applications, now when starting the applications seem work fine but the program will not start and say there is an error with the application and this is after a massive 600mb update, took ages. Any1 know what I'm doing wrong at all please?

And I'm not sure if it is a directx issue, everyone seems to resort to this when they are unsure but I'm pretty sure I'm up to date with DirectX9c.

Any help would be appreciated.

If 1.2 won't work is there any other patches to get, I mainly want to fix the actual battle bugs? They just sit there and get hammered from missle fire and not retaliate and the worse is the cavlary don't always charge with their lances down?

You probably didn't download the full package of the 1.2 patch.
Follow the link bellow and download the fuill patch. Also i recomand that u unistall med 2, restart your comp, install m2 again and then appy the patch.

P.S.
Go get a beer or two because the patching will take quite a while.
