Battle Issue

Hey, new here. I've got this problem with the game where each time I enter a battle, this message comes up saying "Medieval 2 Total War has encountered an unspecified error and needs to close" At first I thought it might be because the battle was too big, but I've had a scaled battle of like only four units fighting each other and the message still comes up before the battle even begins.

Can't figure out what the problem is. Does this relate to the whole 1.2 patch thing?

Did you unpack and forget to delete those 2 files? (check the unpacker readme for details in that case)

Nah, I didn't unpack anything. I just installed the game (and I had no prompts of 1.2 so guess I already have it) and I could in fact enter a few battles and take control and everything, but now each time I try to do that instead of auto-resolve or withdraw, that message comes up and I the game just crashes.

Meh, think your best bet is to reinstall and make sure you apply all the patches from the DVD manually - this sounds pretty botched.

How do I do that?

Best uninstall this version, I guess, and then run the 2 setups in the Update2 and 3 folders on the DVD, and then the Kingdoms setup again.
