    Default Editing units hp value

    I want to change the HP value of William Wallace General bodyguard unit (is that even possible?). How would go about doing this? Do I need to unpack something, because I'm really not sure.

    yeah, you need to run the british campaing unpacker.

    Then go into the mods/british_isles/data folder, and open the export_descr_unit text file.

    Find the one you are looking for, then change the first number of the stat_health to however many hp you want him to have.

    I looked through the export_descr_unit a couple times and did not see any of the scripted Generals unit stats..specifically, I want to edit William Wallace. I'm guessing this isn't possible then?

    It should be down near the bottom, I haven't unpacked that campaign, but I'll

    give you an example of the scripted ganeral units, from the unpacked Teutonic campaign:

    Maybe I'm blind then. But I went through export_descr_unit three times and did not see Wallace.

    Even tried ctrl + f and searched for Wallace and no dice.

    Unless you mean you want to edit Wallace himself i.e. that particular model in the unit, which isn't really possible, unfortunately.

    Hi I have a problem, I have unpacked everything but the changes I have made in the export_descr_unit don't appear in the game. How do I fix this.

    I want to edit his bodyguard. Right now, it's just a regular Highland Noble unit with 1 hp. I want give him 2 hp.

    The unit used is defined in the campaign_script, so you could change the unit to one which has 2 hp. If you want to carry on using the Highland Nobles unit you would either have to change it's hp or create a copy of it with 2 hp.

    I wouldn't mind his bodyguard having 1hp if they actually regenerated. Then again, it might be a breakpoint value (down to 117 from 121 for a few turns) and it hasn't kicked in. Anyone seen the unit regain members?

    Since it isn't actually defined as a general unit it doubt it can.

    Go figure. Reckon I hoped, like I tend to do, that if they cared enough to make a rather cool campaign map model, a cute battle map avatar and a fancy unit card portrait... they might care enough not to make the unit itself near useless. Huzzah?

    Yeah, he does seem kinda lackluster. But you can retrain have at castles just like regular highland nobles. I realized this kinda late, but I'd imagine you can up his experience to gold bars pretty early if you focus on using/protecting him early against those Norway stacks.

    Take heart, it's not too hard to do it yourself.

    If you don't want to change his look, then it's pretty simple, just basically copy the highland nobles, change what you want, then copy/add the text files.

    If you want a different looking unit, then it might get a bit more complicated. Here's a thread discussing unit creation.

    I made a unit way way back (when I was working on a mod I have long since abandoned) that might be something like you want.

    The guys on the right, obviously.


    If people want it I might try to make a mini mod changing wallace to these guys, but I won't be able to start until thursday when I get home.
