I want to know from which movies these splash screens stem.
For one, it's from Kingdom of Heaven (a baad movie IMO), from Troy (a goood movie IMO) and...?
would you please enlighten me?

I thought they were only from A kingdom of heaven
The extended version is pretty good btw.
i saw the extended version. about 3 hours or so.
buuut too much talk.
the battle scenes are good though. i like how they defended the city with so few men.
Alexander beats KoH and Troy![]()
I would never understand why americans gave so little average to that film, while it's only, that have insight and epicness(wtf that word means?!)
Alexander. theres a movie called like that?
Who plays Alexander?
Kingdom of Heaven was very good actually.
I dont like how several images are put through each other in the loading screens though, I rather see one in all its glory.
I remember a poster of Alexander. He's all dirty and covered in blood on his horse... but his shoes are all tidy and clean. Stupid. Maybe a movie on wars between diadochi would be more interesting? :-)
Kingdom of Heaven would be nice if they DIDN'T SURRENDER THE CITY TO SALADIN. Cowards. Also Hattin should be portrayed with more detail. It was far more important and spectacular then the siege of Jerusalem defended by peasants. Imagine all those charges to reach the water, each of them failing terribly. This would be a great movie.
Troy would be nice if there was less love and Legolas-like dialogues and more battle. I left the cinema with a feeling that there just wasn't enough fighting.
Joanne d'Arc also disappointed me, she's crying for half of the movie while they could fill this space with blood and cavalry crushing on pikes, arrow rains and similar stuff.
The best of this category of movies is Braveheart. At least it was until I've read the whole story of Bruce and Wallace. I like Sophie Marceau (she could play Anna Komnenos!) but for God's sake, the princess she's playing was around 10 and living in France when the whole rebellion happened.
Are there any other silimar (and recent) movies I forgot about? I mean this whole historical category.
300 and oppacalips. they where not bad eighter and the movie marco polo.its about the mongoles.
but i prefere star wars...it's a bit off topic lol
or our fuedal knights should be wereing laserswords imao![]()
300 I liked. I also liked the comic when I've read it years ago. They took the best out of the movie though (like jokes about gay Athenian army, they were great, "prettiest army ever" and so on) and added a lot of democratic things which weren't there at all. In the comic when a Spartan says to Leonidas "we're with you", the king answers "like you had a choice". It's not in the movie. Also, I wouldn't call it a historical movie. Spartans didn't break their formation to run forward and kill hordes of enemies in slow motion.
Thanks for hints on those two movies, I hope I'll manage to track them down on IMDB and buy somewhere on the internet. After that, I will whine about them being inaccurate and dumb too. Can count on me as far as this is concerned. :-)
well..they problem is that u don't really know if it's reel or not.the battles really took plave ok,but u can never know what exactly happend there.but for me are the greek and the roman wars the best ever.they were diseplint, and hell good at formations.i think it's really a role model for an army...
and they had some honor and respect for the enemy (mostly) but i like those historical movies and there history 2.that's why it's fun playing this game :-)
Alexander sucked.
Kingdom of Heaven was alright especially the director's cut, if you don't mind a lot of anachronisms in the way the movie deals with religion.
As an Alexander the Great fan , i found that film to be awful.
I liked "Kingdom of heaven" alot....it made me feel more at one with the way religion works.
A little maiming never hurt anybody
Re: Kingdom of Heaven
check the wikipedia article on Balian of Ibelin for a more historical look at the story:

to say ridley scott took liberties with the story is something of an understatement. (not seen the Director's Cut - bought the DVD a cheapie.)
