    Default Gunpowder event...

    Sorry if this has been asked before. I did a search but came up with nothing on this topic.

    In this mod, somewhere around 1240 or so, you get a "gunpowder" event, stating that it has now been discovered and it would be wise to be among the first to develop it.

    It's just that I never got any new buildings to research it! It's now some 100 turns later in my campaign and i still can't build gunpowder units. Have i missed something, or will it come later (the early message being a bug?) ? About 2-30 turns ago I got the Concentric walls event, so i could start upgrading my walls to Huge. I thought maybe that would open something up, but so far I haven't seen anything.

    Actually, let me rephrase my question.

    Is gunpowder in this mod at all, and if so, what year is it supposed to be available?

    What buildings are needed for making gunpowder units? I'm playing Venice and have almost won the game (getting close to 45 provinces) and still no sign of gunpowder, other than the event message.

    sorry if you didnīt get an answer, but I have been playing this mood since itīs first release and believe it or not I have never got that far into a campaign.

    as Torn (mod creator) is MIA there is no way to get a direct answer from other mod team members but be patient and you should find the answer.

    Thanks for the reply!

    And yeah i know how it usually is.. i start new campaigns all the time too and almost never finish to the end. It's just this time i had a real nice campaign going as Venice.. creating my own little Roman empire with the Mediterranian as my own lake. It would just have been fun to try out the gunpowder units. I thought they would be in after reading all the posts on this forum. I picked Venice to play specifically because it said they have lots of late period high tech units.

    The strange thing is that i got the gunpowder discovery event, and i *have* seen nafta throwers in Egypt (don't know if they count as gunpowder units though). But nothing beyond that. Over a hundred turns later, i still can't built my own gunpowder buildings or units and it feels like something is possibly bugged.

    Anyway, thanks for the encouraging words.

    Gunpowder being discovered is just the first event.
    You'll have to wait until cannons are being discovered to build cannons, matchlocks being discovered to build arquebusiers etc.

    Or, modify the units to be buildable w/ just gunpowder event if you can't... (in descr.events or descr.buildings)
