Hotseat

I just wanted to brag on how awesome hotseat is. I finally, got it enabled on my computer and I love it. I used to only play where myfriend would rule one half of my empire and I rule the other. Now we can play as two completely different empires and we can kill each other... which is the best part. I just wanted to know if anyone else uses Medieval 2's hotseat.

Wait wait wait.... how do you guys end up fighting each other? autoresolve?

No other way. You have to auto-resolve when fighting each other.
Id rather use a LAN connection, but I got no twin brother...

yeah when 2 humans fight each other only the attacker can play the battle, otherwise you have to use autoresolve

but still its funny to play more then 1 faction, especially with defensive (AI attacks human) battles working.

I currently play Templars, Danish, Egypt and sometimes Portugal and HRE in the same campaign

Question: what about diplomatic actions between human players? Are these handled by the AI, or delayed until the other human player's turn?

no you get the diplomacy window at the beginning of your turn

i.e.

Egypt (human or AI) makes a diplomatic proposal to England (human) during their turn.
when it is Englands turn, before anything the diplo window opens and you can finalize the diplomacy before you start with your turn.

Sometimes the diplo window also pops up during the AIs turn (at least when they have a proposal). There seems to be some randomness in this.

between humans it can take some time to foster a treaty.

Has someone found a way of using hotseat on RTW I so want to own my dad, but med 2 doesn't play on my alptop because I haven't got a decent enough graphics card.
