Kalmar union?

I'm wondering how to get the Kalmar union in the Teutonic campaign? And, how does it effect the game?

You need to capture scandinavia as the danes to get it, it gives them a new banner and some new units, it said so in the manual

What a shame this mean that I must fight the Norse. I have been allied with them from the start. I just thought their land will be yours after taken some region.

To form the Kalmar Union, you need to take the regions it specifies in the Kalmar Union event message when you get told about the possibility of it, and then you need to kill/wait for the Norwegian King to die and you will get the offer to form it.

I played as Denmark and conquered all of Scandinavia, eliminated the Norwegians, even got those two island provinces and no Kalmar union event. I did get events about the last Norwegian king and before that something about the Scandinavian provinces.

Don't destroy the Norwegians, if you want the Union?! You need to take Kalmar, Visby, Uppsala and Abo(Finland) in order to get the final mission, which establise the Union. The mission will be to kill the King of Norway, since he is the only oppossing factor apparently, if succeeded a event will happen (like a spy/assassin video) and you get the option to join the Union. After accepting you get a new banner, new units(require certain buildings though) and ALL Norwegian held settlements.

if you want a real kalmar union you need to conquer greenland and iceland too

The Danes you get a message in ca 1520 "You got your ass handed to you by a handfull of angry miners from Dalecarlia. Gustav Wasa is now the ruler of Sweden"

What if I eliminate the Norse, will the event still occure?

Nope, can't kill off the Norweigans. I did, and had to play the rest of the campaign without hope of creating the Union.
